Frieza: Oh, a variety of things get us off of our asses to build/steal a new bar, by complete coincidence usually after about 500 things happen. Sometimes it gets blown up in battle with one or more of our many enemies. Sometimes we blow it up ourselves. Sometimes we flee because child services or another government agency has traced us here. But it's usually because it gets so dirty and demolished that it's easier to get a new one than to clean up the old one.

Every once in a while I get a really good idea for a comic. But I don't have a site, so I end up not making'em. Actually I do have a site that I was GOING to start, but I'm too damn lazy and honors classes are hell. I'm completely amazed with the grades I'm getting in some of these classes.

Hey, what'd all you folks think of my site? Out of curiosity.

Question: That host you use does it have page builder or is it html coz im sick of geocities and if i could move to that then i would start making ym comcis again. Cheers if you could give me the link.

 

(Galactic Magi) It's HTML. Just a notepad file that he uploaded to his account. (with image folder of course.)

 

Word. Entire site written from scratch in HTML, images made in Photoshop.

Oh, sorry. I didn't even see your question. I was saying "word" as in "ok" not as in the actual program.

The host I use is www.1asphost.com. 100 megs for free. It's just a database, there's no site editing program. What I do is write all the HTML from scratch in Notepad then save it as, say, index.htm which defaults it to an internet format, and just displays what I've written in code in the window.

I'd recommend taking Web Design at school, that's where I learned all that stuff. Photoshop I did on my own, but as far as writing HTML and setting up a functioning site, I learned from that class. Last semester, actually.

 

(Magnus X Zero) Great, I have violing lessons again this Saturday.

Now, I enjoy playing the violin. I just dislike having to go to lessons.

 

I despise the violin. Played it for two years, ending four years ago, and now I'm in love with the guitar.

 

(Magnus X Zero) I like the violin. I think it's a very well-balanced instrument in terms of sound, volume, and accessibility.

(Galactic Magi) I think the violin is a pretty good instrument. There aren't alot of people who I think make it nice to listen to though. I listen to alot of Jazz so when violin is incorporated it is usually used in a unique way. Time's Scar from Chrono Cross (PS1) is probably one of the best uses for the violin I have ever heard. That is a gorgeous score.

Guitar is good though, you can use it in alot more music styles than the violin.

 

HTML is really simple if you just use tables and nothing else. I could probably teach you tables efficiently pretty quickly John (It's REALLY easy). All you would need to do is make a BASIC (that means put in one tag for ANY image and some text on the page) webpage for practice.

I must be the laziest webmaster ever. I just use the Web-TV editor on Tripod when there are at least fifty other ways I could do it. More and more lately, I just make a cvouple pages in WordPerfect and leave it at that.

Frieza: Then pull up a chair and grab yourself a drink as I invoke the sacred drama of the origins of our noble bar.

(Sub digs into the pile of corpses under the fridge, pulls out a jagged metal disk, dunks it in the green mixture, and forces it down Nemo's throat)

Frieza: Much of the story has faded to legend in its passage through time and alcohol poisoning, but we know for certain that it began in the summer of 01, shortly after the release of SA2. Travelers from across the multiverse were arriving, guided by their manifold motives to the radiant birth of the star known as the SASB. I was such a traveler.

My dimension-hopping journey had begin but a year or so prior. Despite the dangers I'd decided to go by the name Frieza, vain as I am. The night of my arrival was the grand opening of the very first Saiya-jins Club. MKA was all the rage at the time. I assume it was Psyguy's doing, but I never got confirmation. But Vegeta and Trunks thought that MKA was for sissies and decided to open a more complete bar. Food, liquor of all kinds, MKA, music, fighting. Ah, such times.

When I saw the bar I thought twice before entering, having almost exterminated the entire Saiya-jin race. But I decided that my presence would at least generate some interesting conversation, so in I went. I had a drink, met with Vegeta, spoke of old times and such. I met Ace and shared in his first intoxicating concoction. Later that night, I ordered some pasta from Spud and he punched me without a word. We fought, then the rest of the bar joined in, all against me. Ace was at the vanguard of the battle. He stood out from the rest as a true warrior. I think Trunks did well too, but it all happened so fast and I've been in so many battles that I can't remember every little detail.

Then Cooljerk killed me with a Genke Dama. I came back the next day (to a new bar. The old one had expired), sat down with Trunks and Ace, and we became fast friends. The Saiya-jin Empire was formed, being the days of empires like those of Amy and the Chao. Months later, we became the S.P.A. I don't remember how many bars we went through between the second one and the first to take months to finish.

And there you are: The oral history of our bar. Our traditions of drunkenness, violence, and saiya-jin abuse came quickly. And the addition of Nemo gave us a further outlet of entertainment. We know not what our future holds, but we can be sure of one thing: it will involve beer.

Had to have been before that. When I used my yellow Megaman sprite I was part of the SPA. That was before Nemo joined the SASB.

The colored names are people who posted so frequently that I didn't want to type their name before every line. I've been considering adding one for you and GM, but then I'd have to go back and color all those lines. Eventually I will, I suppose.

A slight error in my history. The bar didn't open the night I got here. I'd been here for at least a few days and visited the other bars.

 

(Magnus X Zero) Nah Frieza, you don't have to color in my posts. I don't have enough to justify that kind of effort. Besides, I was such a depressing ass then.

Yeah...I cringe when I go back and read the stupidity that flowed from my mouth back in the early days. And I actually believe there was a bar or two before the first on in that, and Frieza lost it or something. Not quite sure.

 

(Im Not NEG) Anyone read any Marvel/DC comics? You know...the ones outside of the internet? On...paper?

 

The first one I have archived is the first bar that lasted for longer than a week. I thought it was #3, but I don't actually know. The one I missed was the one right after that (#4 if I'm right). And if you're wondering, if the first one I have archived really is #3, that would make this Bar 11 (if you include the one from the SGSB).

And Magnus, it doesn't matter whether or not you've actually "done" anything. It's the fact that you've posted about 354 times and I know you'll be posting plenty more, and it's a pain to type your name out. Besides, you're our only regular customer. I think that more than makes you worthy of note.

So last week my dad got fired and we have to move. It's ok though; we were planning to move soon anyway and my dad won't really miss the job. I don't really care where I am physically anymore, so I don't mind. We're moving to a nearby apartment at the end of the month and I'll be there until May so I can finish college. Not sure where I'll be after that. My dad's been to interviews in Massachusetts and Connecticut, so probably around there.

On a related topic (moving), my next door neighbors just moved out of their house today, and my BEST FRIEND (and his family) might move into their house. Right next door. Sweeeeeeet.

Some dude on Live kept calling it Zombie Jesus Day. Then he had a debate with himself about whether Jesus was a zombie or a ghoul, because ghouls have super strength which would be necessary to push the rock out of the way.

 

The Gospel reading (don't remember which) I heard last night said an angel that looked like lightning came down, knocked the guards out with his very radiance, and moved the stone. So the theory depends on what Gospel you're following. Of course, if you're actually following any Gospel you probably wouldn't want to classify him as either.

Then again, I'm against organized religion and I don't follow most of the holidays. My reasoning for not following passover is that they bar you from having food with yeast in it. All that does is just release CO2 into the dough when it gets hot. So my reasoning is that if passover is against CO2, then passover is against us exhaling, meaning passover doesn't like humans breathing. Therefore passover hates humanity.........yeah I probably have some unresolved issues about Hebrew School. Damned if I'm gonna work through them though.

I just got back into the country and My dream just came true! some of you guys have probably heard this but They're making a Shadow the Hedgehog game, with Just Shadow! By the looks of it it's not like the typical Sonic Hippie stuff, This game looks dark and evil....But why did they give him an Uzi?

Trunks...you make me want to kill. But you just got back, so it's an innocent mistake to look forward to a game about a character that USED to be decent. There's a slim chance that it'll be good, but taking into account the terrible cinema scenes of Advance 2 & 3, the nonsensical story in Sonic Battle (see http://ghzforum.nathantsui.com/viewtopic.php?p=29169&highlight=#29169), the unforgivable Sonic Heroes, and the interviews with the game's director Takashi Iizuka, effectively the new leader of Sonic Team, I'm expecting to be seeing visions of carpet bombing Sega while playing this game. I could go on for pages about it, but I don't want to ruin the game for you if you're really looking forward to it. Just don't get you hopes too high.

I know the advanced games blew, and also sonic heroes,and...Damn what the hell happaned to sega? I shouldve complained to them in person whene I was there in japan these couple of weeks , Oh well. From the trailer it looks like it'll have decent level designs and the action moves so fast. and its also for PS2,Gamecube and the Cinder Block with an X on it.

Oh my God I want NamcoXCapcom so badly, KOS-MOS is my favorite female video game character and the Xenosaga series is my favorite RPG. Whene I heard about NxC I was so Hyped the second I heard about KOS-MOS being a playable character. My main dream for that game would be Zero from MMX vs KOS-MOS from Xenosaga but it seems so far the main Capcom Character will be Rock and Roll from Rockman Dash/Legends.

 

Something I just wondered about SHtH, Will he be able to use KOASU KONTRORU! You know like the whole ZERO shift thing in Z.O.E.

 

He does have some chaos moves, yes. One of them is time freeze, one of them destroys all the enemies around you. There's not too much info on them.

I'll tell you the semi-good stuff instead of focusing on the bad. There's 50 different 'missions'. We don't know what that means yet, but depending on how you play the levels, you choose whether to side with Sonic, Eggman, or another team that I'm not going to mention because I said I'd stop focusing on the bad. Based on these choices, you get different endings. Actually, what seems to be going on is that Shadow's looking for his past, and based on how you play the game, you choose what his past is. This throws story continuity out the window (and just when it looked like they were really trying to fix that), but it might be cool. It's an easy way of satisfying all the fans who have so many different theories.

 

(Galactic Magi) Well Trunks, lucky you, KOS-MOS/crew should be the first crossover characters you get. Lot's of time to use them.

E3 kicks ass!!!! makes me love LA even more
I saw the shadow TH trailer, His attacks are Chaos controll and Chaos Blast, and the weapons you can get are taken from enemies, Similar to Rockman ZERO 4 also Sonikku is also in the game,From what I managed to learn he might be a sidekick to shadow the way tails was to Sonic Im not sure about this so Im gonna try to learn more about it at the sega booth tommorow but it looks awsome so does PS3,MGS4's trailer was hillarious, MMX Collection, Devil May Cry 4, a new Onimusha game thats in actuall 3D (no set cameras) and so much more. But what I didn't like was that Namco had nothing for Namco X Capcom or Xenosaga EP3.

My 2 cents:Sony was by far the most impressive, Xbox's presentation yesterday SUCKED! Nintendo's was allright but they don't have anything worth while other than the legend of zelda:Twiglight Princess. PS3 is thankfully gonna be backards compatible , But because of legal reason Xbox 360 won't be because Microsoft doesn't want to pay royalties to Nvidia. and nintendos sort of new consol the Revolution Is said to be able to play ever past nintendo game ever made. from NES to GC. they also have this mini GBA the reminds me of an ipod mini, I thought it was gonna suck but it plays alright.

Well it's 12:30 so Im going to bed, My E3 finale awaits...BTW I hate paying like 4 bucks for a damn soda.

 

Well, for this first time in these 6 years I've been at Gamefaqs, I actually followed along with E3 somewhat (mostly Sonic stuff). Here's what I learned.

Xbox's presentation was indeed sad. I hear the graphics looked exactly like Xbox 1, and it doesn't have its built in hard drive. PS3 looked ok. A bunch of sequels announced, including .hack//GU. The new controller looked questionable, but it's subject to change. Nintendo gave a small peak at the Revolution, but kept the revolutionary controller out of the show to prevent industrial espionage (which has occurred in the last few shows). The real showing will be at next year's E3. We did learn that smash bros will be one of the launch titles, and it'll be ONLINE! And no fees to play first party games online. I've always wanted that.

Ok, now for my field of expertise. There's 3 new Sonic games on the way. Sonic Gems Collection is another mega collection. It includes Sonic Fighters (the arcade game), Sonic R (unknown version), Sonic CD (unknown version), Sonic 2 GG, Tails Adventure, Tails Sky patrol, Sonic Spinball GG, Triple Trouble, and Sonic Drift 2. Chaotix is highly suspected to be an unlockable. I'm hoping SegaSonic arcade is too since it's the only game that can't be emulated, but it's looking unlikely. Damnit.

I've seen the trailer of the Shadow game. It's SA2 with weapons. Some of the level structures were even recolorations of platforms I recognized from SA2 and Heroes, and that alien fleet is a complete rip of the Eggfleet in Heroes. But SA2 wasn't a bad game, and I guess I could have fun with this. I think the color scheme is ugly though.

The story is that Shadow's got amnesia and is looking for his past, and somehow the 7 emeralds will restore his memory. Aliens are randomly invading the Earth and Sonic and Eggman are fighting them. You can choose to help or not in each of the 23 levels. In fact, there's 2 optional missions in each level: You can help Black Arms(?) do something nefarious. (Aka: Kill GUN soldiers) or help a Sonic character fight the aliens. (Be it Sonic or Eggman --both showed up in the demo). Depending on what you do, there're 10 possible endings (kinda like Sonic CD was supposed to be). Also, time travel comes into the story somewhere. That's usually fatal for story continuity, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. I could end up liking this. It all comes down to how good a story they have. And with 10 endings, SOMETHING is bound to agree with me.

The last is for the DS, called Sonic Rush. It's basically Sonic Advance 4 with 2 screens. So far the touch screen isn't used but they say it will be, specifically for bosses. They use some ugly polygons instead of sprites (remember G-Sonic/Sonic Blast GG?). The level art looks nice, but it's probably going to be as good as the other advance games. There's 2 playable characters, Sonic and Blaze the Cat. Blaze is a queen of some kind from a parallel dimension, the other bad sci-fi plot that's usually fatal to story continuity. Something about Sol emeralds, probably(hopefully) from the other dimension. I'm expecting a standard Advance game.

Aside from time travel, parallel dimensions, and a new character (which wouldn't bother me if Sonic team had the guts to drop a single new character since SA1), I'm feeling ok about this. I've been complaining since Sonic Advance 2, and I'm just tired of it. I'll try to be less uptight about the series from now on. So...beer me.

Anyway going to the sonic stuff. Sonic rush(DS) i am very disapointed at so far as it doesn't seem to ahve changed at all from the lackluster advance series(Sadv1 was good) i mean ANOTHER new character for the n00bs to druel over and say is cooler than sonic. It seems if the games are really starting to be less about our child hood hero by the year. T

his infact maybe the first sonic game...dare i say...i will not be buying as im not going to fork out £100 on a DS as i jsut don't see it having potential over the PSP IMO.

Anyway Wasn't Sonic R supposed to jsut be a rumour and then sega said it wasn't real or was it annoucned at E3 im not sure. If it is im sure this is the PSP sonic i've been looking out for. Sonic Gems collection is sega's biggest cash in to date, i really am getting sick of them WHY can't these games been added to the origina collection. Ok sega needs money i know but geeso how much money do they think we seriously have?

Anyway that my rant. I'll ahve a double scotch barman!

The GBA Micro was specifically designed as a cash ploy, and Nintendo isn't denying it. It was created for those minority of gamers who value the take-with-you ability over the playability.

So...Yeah, saying it's just a cash-in isn't really the greatest way to say it's bad.

My prized Star Wars Ep. I Destroyer Lego Droid still looms menacingly over my desk, keeping a watchful eye on all that happens before it.

Seriously though, that thing is awesome, you can fold it into a ball, roll it along the floor, and it springs into attack mode. It was one of those Lego sets that was more like...complex Tinker Toys than Legos. Uses rods and poles and connecter pieces instead of the standard blocks, which really makes a nice look for the droid.

In that time, most of my writing projects and the concert series actually got done... on paper. I'll get the computer back tomorrow and hopefully be done typing by Sunday. Expect it to be either e-mailed or at least posted on my site. (Way too much cursing in one song for it to be completely posted here)

BTW, I forgot to ask "the guy who knows what he's doing" when he was starting his new job... the day after I gave him my PC to fix.

He was supposed to be downgrading it to windows 98. Problem is that I had been running XP like an imbecile. The machine was overworked running twenty tasks at once. I heard from my cousin (his wife) that he's been actually stayoinmg up trying to find some way to whip it into shape, but he's had as much luck as me. So he has now been given authorization by me to pull the plug on the project and Frankenstein me up a machine that's better from the stuff he and I have laying around.

Problem the first I have encountered as of the july 4th cookout where we last met in person:

Ace, it just occured to me that I was never able to remember Spades's weakness. What was it?

 

He's an energy manipulator, his body control the flow of any sort of energy around him. Kinetic, heat, ether, air, it's all good so long as he's got some will left. However, if he's cut off from it and any source of strength inside too, he'll revert back to just being his alter ego. Not helpless, just normal.

 

I finally have my computer back. I have no modem, but that's not gonna stop me. I'll find a way. (probably through USB and an extra Hard drive)

Yo Friez, expect 'that thing' on Monday or Tuesday. The DVD is a bit deep in the story department from what I hear, it intrigued me in the Newtype preview so I hope you'll like it. And don't judge by the corny-ass cover on the book, it's a good read. Oh and... don't go lookin' for the rest of the series... unless you know a GOOD second hand book store, cause the one I got you was the best quality one I've seen out of the entire series I've got. It was hard as hell finding more.

And this year I got all frigging core classes except one (film and tv, which thankfully is taught by one of the coolest teachers at the school). Augh, school sucks.

 

Heh heh. I graduated 2 months ago. Feels good to be free.

 

Most of the IB teachers are pretty cool. Except for the freshman ones, but that was two years ago.

I'm kinda bummed though, 'cause I don't think it's very likely I'll have as fun a group of teachers as last year. That and my two best friends who were in IB last year aren't going to be in it this year (one dropped out, one moved to Oregon).

 

(Magnus X Zero) My school doesn't offer IB. My two best friends' school does though, and it's giving them hell.

 

Just got the stuff Ace. The book looks wacky; I don't know what to expect but I'm looking forward to it. And I'll check the DVD tonight.

BTW, after a full year of nothing but video games, I've finally started writing that Sonic story again. The details of the first 'disk' are almost planned enough for me to put some more on paper. Hopefully I'll have something new by the end of the month.

(Magnus X Zero) I'm going to be driving a '96 Honda Accord. Except I hate driving and prefer walking/running/biking.

 

My dad has an Accord...from some time in the last four years. I really like it.

I haven't driven an old one though. I'm also 6' 4" and fit comfortably inside my dad's, if that makes any difference to you...Most of my friends don't have that issue.

 

(Galactic Magi) Bah. Got my wisdom teeth taken out today. Medicine I took is incredible but before I was able to take it, it was HORRIBLE. Something poked the exposed nerve on the top of my mouth (think it was a stitch. One's pointing up on both sides.) when I bit down. Dear god that was one of the most painful things I've felt in a while. That nerve hits all the areas on the right side of your face, and after it shot through that side of my face, the pain focused behind my eye. Don't EVER want to feel that again.

But all is well now, because the med I was perscribed is a narcotic and I can't feel my nerve endings there. Hell yeah for modern medicine!

 

(Magnus X Zero) I hope I never have to get my wisdom teeth taken out.

 

(Galactic Magi) If you have the right medicine you don't even feel the pain. My downfall was that my mother hadn't picked up my perscription yet so she just gave me Tylenole Codein. Needless to say, that was useless. Just pick it up before you go and you'll have no issues. I haven't felt them since yesterday.

If your mouth has room for them though, you shouldn't need them out. My problem was my bottom wisdom teeth were impacted. The ones on the top were so small that I don't think I even needed them out, but they figured they would anyway. My brother never got wisdom teeth at all. Curse his more evolved ways..... But yeah, they put a TINY little needle in my arm for an IV, I talked with them for not even 30 seconds, I passed out, and the next time I was concious, I was just walking into my house out of the car.

 

(Magnus X Zero) I'm not worried about the pain, I just wouldn't want to take the time to take them out.

 

That's crazy...I just got MY wisdom teeth out yesterday too.

All four were impacted.

So yeah...I have pretty much no sympathy for you.

High school. We actually got an extra week of summer break this year because they messed with the schedule.

Frieza: I think they're on the moon or something.

Man: Get yourselves ready and meet me in the graveyard in an hour.

Frieza: This entire city's a graveyard.

Man: The one where bodies are buried respectfully.

Man: I think it's next to the alligator on you map.

(Exchange generic anime grins. Kenshin runs in and kills the man)

Frieza: ...uh, why did you do that?

In unrelated news, my buddy and I are planning on making a webcomic.

Notice how I say planning.

We're going to try to get it up and running over October break (which is in like three or four weeks gasp), assuming I can get my hands on a copy of Macromedia Dreamweaver (yes I know I'm a horrible person for not writing my HTML from scratch). I've used the program at school, and it's unlike any program I've ever seen for making websites. It works brilliantly, assuming you know how HTML works. It won't let you do anything that would be impossible to do normally with HTML, unlike Geocities and others.

Unfortunately, it's a Marcromedia product, and therefore like four hudnred bucks. I'm not really planning on paying that, but it's a lot harder to find some one with a copy of Dreamweaver that you can bootleg as opposed to Photoshop or Flash.

Both of which I purchased with entirely legitimate funds.

Yeah.

Anyway, we have about twelve comics already written out, I could post the scripts if you guys would be interested in reading them.

Zakk is my friend's character, Ted would be mine. This is an event that actually occurred, and we thought it was just too funny to not write. However, I think something was lost in the translation to text.

 

(Tabcef) There's a story that goes like this:

[Inside bathroom]
[Old Lady washing cat, with it struggling]

Old Lady:There, there. Just be patient for a few more minutes.

[Cat Struggles even more]

[Old Lady casts distressed look on her face while speaking]
Old Lady: Hey there, Marie-chan. Calm down.

[Cut to outside bathroom]

Old Lady: "If you don't let me dry you off properly, you'll catch a cold."

[Old Lady smiles brightly]

Old Lady: Oh, that's right! There's a good way of doing this.

[Cut to inside microwave]
[Slowly zooms out, then cuts to Old Lady and Cat]
[Old Lady is still smiling, while the cat has a surprised/shocked look on it's face]

Old Lady: "If we use the microwave, you'll be dry in a jiffy."

[Old Lady slowly places cat into microwave, cat meows]

Nemo, it was ok. Not laugh out loud, but amusing. Beware of using conversations from real life though. They're hilarious to watch, but they usually lose something when put into writing.

 

Which is unfortunate. Anyway, here's another one. This is one of our funniest (in my opinion, you may think otherwise).

Frame 1
Ted: I have purchased some Lincoln Logs.
Zakk: I can see that. I am genuinely afraid of where this conversation is headed, but explain to me the purpose of the Lincoln Logs.

Frame 2
Ted: We are going to construct a cabin.
Zakk: Alright.
Ted: Out of Lincoln Logs.
Zakk: I gathered.
Ted: Do we have a hot glue gun? We’re going to need a hot glue gun.

Frame 3
Zakk: We do have one of those.
Ted: Or some log cabin colored duct tape.
Zakk: Are you listening to me? I just said we have a hot glue gun.
Ted: I’m going to need to investigate this duct tape thing further. In the meantime, I want you to layout the foundation for our cabin.
Zakk: I’ll get right on that.

 

I loved the first frame, and the second was a good build up, but end just doesn't hit hard enough. You start out with a funny situation, but it sort of tapers off. But our opinions of humor have always been very different, so I don't know. You might want to split that last panel into 2 though.

 

(Master Espeon) Does it need to be three frames? If separated correctly, four frames would maximize the humor potential.

 

When it comes time to actually put that one into comic form we may split it into four frames, but I've just always preferred the look of a three panel comic.

And, Friez, I can see what you mean about tapering off...I'll try and think of another way to end it and let you know.

 

I had an idea...What if I replace the last line with something like, "Have you ever thought of just killing yourself?"

 

While I'm talking about this, we originally used that line in this comic, but the common concensus seems to be that this one isn't really very funny.

Zakk: This has 22.
Ted: Exactly.
Zakk: You realize most guitars have 22?
Ted: Mine has 24.

Zakk: That’s because yours is a really obscure brand.

Zakk: Yes… Those guitars are oddly fretted because the minority of guitars with 24 frets are in the majority.

I think it's funny how every time a bar drops off the board the number of messages on the board drops to about one sixth.

Has anyone ever requested to make a bar topic before? o_o Totally fine by me, just don't remember this happening before.

 

At one time everyone wanted at least one bar in their name. With you making this bar, I think everyone's made one now (except maybe Solar. Not sure. And of course Spud and Stinkie, but they're not really members). But this is the first time a non-SPA has requested it.

And we've been the life's-blood of this place since the third bar. It's just much more obvious now. In fact, when this topic drops off, we might be targeted for deletion...remember, should that ever happen, we'll regroup at the SGSB and decide where to go from there. And if you can't remember that, I'd have something on the website's front page.

Huh...I was feeling nostalgic and went to see if Stinkie had sprites. I found this:

That made me curious about where Sub went and what he does on other boards. So I searched and the last time his name is used on any board on Google was in 03. Then I found this:

So either he changed his name to Roaddhogg X or the guy listed his name for some reason. I looked because I'm hoping to make (force my videogame-company-starting-brother to make) an SPA game sometime, and I don't know too much about his billions of transformations and famous moves.

Infact, if you guys have any story ideas or info about your characters you'd like to put up, please do. Even you, Magnus. You're in this thing, even if as an extra and even if I have to give you a generic sprite.

 

Seeing as there may be copyright infringments with using hedgehogs (or porcupines that don't look any different), I may have to think something up for my character Z that I had a while ago...I wonder if I still have any of those sprites. I shall investigate.

 

No luck with a Z sprite sheet, but I think I may have made a comic or two with him, I'll have to investigate that further.

In the meantime, I found two of my old Nemo sheets that I don't think I ever released to the public. The hyper version in the second one is (in my opinion) my best sprite making ever.

It's not going to be the kind of game we sell. I mean, half of us are Sonic recolors and the other half are DBZ characters. It's going to be an internet game, primarily for us I'd imagine, and any other of the old SASB who care to check it out.

The whole charm of the game is that the cast we have here is so great. They're funny, but insanely cool at the same time. Between my style, Ace's, Sub's, yours, and Trunks, we've got amazing potential for both comedy and action. So Nemo has to be in it. I know very little about Tan, Z, and Cyril. For that matter I know little about you, Nemo.

Stuff about your characters like age, eye color, origin, descriptions of attacks (it's primarily going to be a 2d fighter), whatever. Villains or trials you've dealt with in the past would be good to know in case I feel like referencing something.

If it turns out really good, we could change the names and appearances slightly and sell it.

And I was writing a fanfic sort of thing a while ago that dealt with the origins of Nemo and Tan... However I neither have it, nor remember really anything about it. I think I may have touched on a couple of origin things in that big RP there was like two years ago...I'll rumage through that and see what I can find.

 

I think the last I read of it was chapter 2. Something about a Nemotan sphere, and that's about all. You can make up something new if you feel like it, or I can just leave you as a dimension traveler of unknown origin. One thing you might know off hand are your special powers. I remember you can teleport and phase into other dimensions at will (which could explain how you casually defy physics). Anything else?

GM, shall I just make you a generic Megaman guy?

 

Alright...something about a moon on a planet called Richon where Z lives...Tan lives on the planet itself...The Nemotan Orb is buried in the middle of the moon for protection...Nemo and Tan can use the orb to create one creature called (wait for it) Nemotan. I was kind of running out of ideas for names of things. I'm not to the point in the RP where I described Nemotan's description, and If you/your borther want to use Z in the game I could write up some stuff for him too. That story's a little fresher in my mind.

I'll also post some attacks later.

 

A little more:

Nemo and Tan were created from the Sphere, but I never really even bothered to think up where the Sphere came from, so you could say it's unknown.

Also, Nemotan is a pure white porcupine with larger muscles. He has white eyes with tiny grey pupils.

 

(Magnus X Zero) Heh, you guys will be sure to hear my input when needed. I'm currently writing a story right now, but I would always be happy to contribute to whatever craziness you guys can cook up.

I use to have some sprites made by TapamN, but I don't know if they still exist. If I can't find them, I'll try to think up a new character, probably based on the one in my story.

 

Even if I don't use Z, anything you can tell me about him would be great. I can always use inspiration.

Magnus...is Magnus actually a character? Whoever you end up being, that has to be his name to stick with the continuity. And definitely link us to that story when you're done.

Also note, this isn't going to get done any time soon. I wrote the script for the game a year ago. My brother's currently "working" on a fighting game, so when he's got the basic engine down he'll just swap in our sprites, draw up the cinema scenes, and tweak it. But at the pace he's been going, I wouldn't expect that for another few years. I just figured I'd ask for your info now in case someone gets lost in that time.

 

(Magnus X Zero) Yeah, Magnus is an actual character. I'll try to write up a quick bio later.

 

I actually read through the entire Metro City thing yesterday because I have no life, and I'd really like to do something like that again. But alas, it would be much harder to find the time to write attacks with school being much more restrictive than it was three years ago.

That's another thing, I can't believe that was three years ago. Moreover, I'm surprised I was that good of a writer three years ago.

Which is another reason I'd like to give RPing another go; I think I could do so much better a second time around.

Then that got me thinking about Z's story, and I expanded it into something I think would be pretty cool for another RPG. I wouldn't want to spoil it ending if we do by some chance decide to do another one.

 

I regret that we never got to a really good RPG. Metro city felt disjointed and disorganized. It might have gotten better if I hadn't gotten bored and kind of forced it to stop, but it turned out pretty good. The Santa one was looking good, but then Reyn left and Christmas came and I killed it. Again. I gotta stop doing that.

I've always really wanted to get the whole group together. Sub and Trunks have never fought at all (probably because they're more into the real-time chat style of battle, not the writing intensive one I brought to us), and Ace was always disappearing. If we could just get everyone here and active just once, and find someone to fight against us, I think it'd come out brilliant.

I have the same problem with time. I could probably manage one reply a week, and I should be spending that time working on my Sonic story. But if we could get even half of us in for a good game, I'd go for it.

 

(Galactic Magi) For the time being, just make me some megaman guy. I have other sprites, and I'm doing too many other things right now to make a sprite sheet (not to mention I need Paint Shop Pro back on my computer). I found out how to do AMAZING sprite work, but I can't test it yet until I have PSP. Drawing it out by hand first, I think I can pull it off.

GM, your sprites are good enough. I was referring more toward your character's personality and powers. You were never around for any of the skits and fights we had, so I have no idea what your character's like. But, if making sprites with PSP will really be easy, it'd be great if you made or remade some of ours.

(thank you for making the sheets guys, all my backups are gone) hopefully I'll have 'something' to toss onto my site( the only place my connection allows me to post to. (Galactic Magi) Oh, powers and such. Toughie for that particular sprite. I've gone through two incarnations that I never put online, and my current stuff wouldn't exactly FIT with that sprite.....damn. Skyring is Ace's new name. And I think we all still do comics at heart. We just don't do them. My last one was a year ago, and I don't have the time/good enough idea to continue. If I do come up with something, I'd probably just make it into a bar scene.
