that bar grill

We have a tradition that only SPA
members can start the topic...think I'd like to stick with that tradition for
now. I'll start it again in a few days if Ace or GM or somebody else doesn't
show up. Good title though.

YOU KNOW WHAT I CAN'T BELIEVE I MISSED
THE 500 AGAIN FORGET IT I GIVE UP.
(Im Not NEG) Just wanted to note that I didnt read the last
few posts, or I wouldnt have double posted. The brain just kinda went "OMG
OMG 498 POST POST POST" and er...yeah.
Sorry.
::gets back to Pokemon Diamond::
(SonicTheRabbit) NEG, I was gonna double post till I read
the post about not double posting.
damn you.
Seriously though, I've been
trying to get the 500th post for a few years at the least. And I fail every
single time.
Also, can I make a bar once? I'm
not a true member of the SPA, but I'm like honorary right? Right? *wink wink
nudge nudge*
(Im Not NEG) Well considering I made a bar last time, I'm sure you'd be able to as well.
Sure, you can do one. Or if Tab
actually wants this one to be official then we'll do that since it's already
here, and you could do the next one.
And you already got your 500 two bars ago:
http://www.geocities.com/spa_comics3/Bar11.htm
NEG...you'll get yours in my next post.
My God you're right. My
complaints shall cease now.
Anyway, we'll see what Tab wants to do.

show up. Good title though.
I'd thank you to take your elitism elsewhere.
It's got nothing to do with
anybody being superior, it's just one of the only bits of continuity we've got
left. Nostalgia and such.
(Big the Cat500) Yeah I know I just felt like saying that.
(Pook420) Karma post! Jk
(Earlier)
Frieza: At long last, the time has come.
(Jumps up on counter with megaphone)
Frieza: All right everyone, it's getting to be that time again. Come on, move
out. I think we'll reconvene at the north side of town this time.
(Magnus, Tabcef, NEG, monsters, and various drunken entities hiding in the woodwork
find their way out through the many holes in the walls)
Chibi Trunks: (yelling from bathroom) Can I go too?
Frieza: No. I've been waiting for this moment for a long time. I want those
toilets clean.
Chibi Trunks: But nobody ever comes in here!
Frieza: Oh, don't worry. I'm expecting us to have a big 'boom' very shortly.
Chibi Trunks: So you're going to blow me up AND make bad jokes about it?
Frieza: Yes. Where's Goku?
Chibi Trunks: That Pokemon changed him into SonGoku and a genome almost a year
ago. Remember?
Frieza: Oh right. I forgot to get Ace to bring him back. Well, screwing with
the temporal fabric on a moment's notice isn't quite my forte but this just
wouldn't be right without him.
(Screws with the temporal fabric using magic and discarded silverware. Goku
appears)
Goku: Huh? Hey, where did everybody go? And why am I and a shorter version of
myself standing outside?
Frieza: Uh, we're having a surprise costume party for...uh, Vegeta. We're all
going to dress up as you and see if he can tell who the real one is, or
something. Quick, get under the counter and don't come out until I yell
surprise!
(Goku sighs and looks at Frieza with tired eyes)
Goku: Frieza, every time you act like you're my friend you either try to kill
me or frame me for armed robbery or burn my family. So whatever you were
planning either get it over with or forget about it because I'm tired of being
lied to.
Frieza: What? You're still intelligent? Did I make a mistake?
Goku: I don't know what you're talking about Frieza, but just because I can't
read or write or safely operate kitchen appliances doesn't mean I can't learn.
(Moment of silence)
Frieza: You know monkey, you've really grown on me these last few years. Not
just because I enjoy beating the living daylights out of you, or because
watching you try to operate the phone is hilarious, or even because you taste
good off the grill and in chili, but because you...actually, I think those are
the only reasons. But there might also be something sentimental involved, like
determination or hope or love. It's entirely possible.
Goku: Really?
Frieza: Yes Goku, and that's why AMNESIA DUST!!!
(Throws amnesia dust at Goku, he passes out)
Frieza: Hahahahaha! Let's see you learn without your memories, monkey!
(Takes out communicator)
Frieza: Zarbon, is everything ready?
Zarbon: (from ship) The Z-500 demolition gun in charged and awaiting your
command, Master Frieza.
Frieza: Excellent. I've been waiting a long time to test this out.
(Pulls out lighter, kisses it, lights Goku, flees bar)
Frieza: Target the flaming monkey and fire!
Zarbon: Target locked, power at full, demolition in T-5, 4, 3, 2, 1, FIRE!
Frieza: Ah, this should be...wait, full power?
Zarbon: Yes sir, to put on a big show when the planet explodes.
Frieza: Not the planet! Just the-hold on.
(Deflects giant beam of death into space)
Frieza: Now do it again on low power.
Zarbon: Sorry sir, recharging now!
(Pause)
Zarbon: ...uh, Master Frieza?
Frieza: Yes Zarbon?
Zarbon: The target is, uh...gone.
(Frieza looks down to see the bar a smoldering crater with NEG standing in
front of it. He lands next to him and stares hard at his self-satisfied eyes)
NEG: Old bar's all taken care of, mate. Where's the new one?
Frieza: ...Zarbon?
Zarbon: Yes sir?
Frieza: Fire it anyway.
(5 minutes, 20 demolished city blocks, and a crispier NEG later)
Frieza: Well, thanks to Ace's grand finale the bar didn't quite last a full
year but it was more than a worthwhile trade off. We'll cross that milestone
soon, I'm sure. But for now, Tab got us a good place so he drinks for free. He
never drinks though, so it works out for us.
(Sips antifreeze cocktail)
(POLLY_01) SonGoku: I feel like installing a giant ray-gun on the roof. Actually, I'll probably make it pop out from the roof and fire destructive blasts of energy.

(ConsumerOfBeer) What's with the radiohead impersonations?
Just a question Frieza, is this
going to be the only bar with a great deviation in the name?
(Tabcef) this and that is not radiohead-esque at all
it's perfectly clear in meaning
oh great NEG is gonna make another topic again
Yeah, I'm a bit worried that an
old patron will stop by and not immediately see a Saiya-jin's Club, but this
does at least say bar and grill. When you do yours make it the usual title, but
you can tack on a subtitle if you want.
Frieza: You want a giant gun on the roof? ...Whatever, just make sure it
doesn't scare the customers. Or kill them. Or spill my drink from the
vibrations. I can't even begin to tell you how many civilizations are gone
because somebody spilled my drink.
Patron ahoy!
Sorry 'bout that. Read up until Neg's post then stopped since it seemed Frieza
didn't want to make it.
(ConsumerOfBeer) This one's better.
Ok, now I'm a little torn. This
topic is already up to page 3, but GM has never started a bar before and his topic
has the right title...
You guys decide. Which topic should we use? Both will get archived either way.
Rival bar fights! I'm manning the

(Tabcef) traitors
We were established first. Going to
your establishment would be the only thing that could be considered traitorous.
(Im Not NEG) Agreed! ::threatens Tabcef with a half broken bottle::
Well, that was an interesting
week. I guess this is the real bar then. Tab or Magnus have dibs on the next
one (whoever gets to it first, and provided that Solar, Stinkie, or Spud don't
show up).
Also, the lack of Nemo is now officially severe. In July it'll be a year since
he's posted.
Nemo is very involved in his normal
life. He's crazy about this girl he's been seeing for months. She's a nice
person, though I didn't talk to her much. Decided to go to the same college as
her. I've barely talked to him in the past few months, mostly just see him
walking around from place to place with her. I wouldn't count on him ever
returning.
I've never understood why a
normal social life is incompatible with something like this. We have 2 posts a
day here, if that. How much effort does it take to drop by once a week?
Glad to hear he's doing good though. I just wish we could have said goodbye if
he's really not coming back.
Yeah, what a jerk.
I jest, I jest.
That's not really what I meant... I
suppose he just doesn't place a whole lot of value on this place. It's nothing
to take offense at. With all that he's been doing and as happy as he seems to
be I think he just pushed other thoughts like the existence of this place out
of his mind. I don't think he even goes on GameFAQs anymore. It's just not
something he thinks about.
That's what I figured, and it's
totally understandable. One day, though, he'll probably think of us randomly
and take a peek to see if we're still here. Every year there's a handful of
people who do, and those are just the ones who post to let us know.

^ What was the point of that?
Anyway:
Done with English classes forever! Concurrent enrollment rid me of English IV,
English 101, and English 102 all at the same time! :D Just gotta get my
transcript in about a week and sell my text books back.
I just thought we could use a
bump and it's something that hadn't been used before.
You were actually able to enroll in all 3 of those at the same time? Wasn't at
least one of them a prerequisite of the other? And what major are you planning
on?
Oh, no with concurrent enrollment I
can take classes outside of my high school and get credit for it.I took my
college english classes in place of my English IV, which is what's offered at
high school. As it's the general studies college english, Eng 101 first
semester and 102 is second semester. They're separate courses, but you're
supposed to do both as your general studies.
Now, since I'm taking classes in college for that, it also counts as college
credit, thereby eliminating the need to repeat the general studies english. I
just saved a whole year, and a lot of money since it was just a community
college class. I was just trying to knock off general studies so I wouldn't
have to waste my time. I'm a digital art major. Going into Interface &
Graphic design. Interface for income, since few people have the skills required
and it's in very high demand (pay ranges I saw were between $60-90k). Graphic
design is for fun, but having training in graphic design also makes you FAR
more marketable as an interface designer. If you don't have training in both
then you have to work with a graphic designer.
So long as he's happy, it's fine.
I'm cool with Nemo.
Yar, I got me a new laptop
mateys.
There does not seem to be much to
talk about... could the tradition of the bar be nearing its end?
That's nonsense... I hope.
(Tabcef) i seriously hope to god big is not saving what i
say to him
or else i'm going to look like a psychopath
We had nothing to talk about for
the entirety of last year but we still managed to fill the topic. We've just
been bring up random things as we think of them or stuff in our lives as it
happens. It's kind of like a board within a board.
And hey, I work in interfaces. Not the user to software kind though, the
software to software kind.
Oh, you're an interface designer? I
didn't know that. I was thinking about entering into that since the demand is
high but there aren't a lot of people with the necessary skills. Make pretty
good money. I'm gonna be trained in graphic design too so that should help.
Can you give me some feedback about what it's like? Good or bad? Enjoy your
work? Takes up too much of your time? Things like that.
Or I completely misinterpreted your statement and you should disregard.
Heh, when I said software to
software I meant that I'm a programmer. I maintain (and occasionally design)
interfaces for my company's software to communicate with other companies'
software. I work at Meditech (I think I read it's the world's oldest software
company, 1969, but I'm not sure) and it's pretty much the best programming job
I could picture.
You might find it funny, though, that the graphical user interfaces for the
product I work on (old, but still in wide use) appear to be from the early 90s
and consist entirely of about 7 colors of boxes and don't support the mouse.
(Im Not NEG) Picross is fun fun fun fun fun!
(new DS version)
Bah. Ya know, I'm having an awful
lot of trouble finding statistics like work hours. Kind of reflective of the
amount of people actually with the job, but still. The most I can really find
is pay, and an instructor of mine stressed that this is worth doing since the
limited field pretty much gives you a good income and job security. Doesn't
sound too bad for me either, I like picking apart the logic in things and
there's plenty of interfaces on sites and programs where I think either
"What the hell were they thinking?....." or "it would be a lot
more convenient/organized if they did this." So I know I can at least
identify how something could be run in a more efficient manner.
(Im Not NEG) The french work the least amount of hours per
day and are happy happy happy economy-wise due to this, I remember reading
once.
If only everyone else had the same idea.
MAGIKARP! USE SPLASH!
On the radio this morning I
heard that the French whine about their jobs the most. America came in 4th.
Where do those statistics come
from? o_o
Who bothers to even find such statistics? I want to meet one of the people
who's been actually charged with tallying these inane things.
On second thought, no I don't. I'd
probably just sigh and walk away when I saw them. Why not just save time now?
New sig! Because it made me laugh
harder than I have in quite a long time. Far less funny if you haven't seen the
first season and aren't actually watching the scene, but I'm doing this for me!
:D

"I demand a plain roll! Now bring out the plain rolls.... or I will
shoot." - Sousuke Sagara
Watching the pilot episode of
Fumoffu motivated me to watch everything else. It's brilliantly hilarious.
I've yet to watch the last disc,
but after the first few episodes it started to tank for me. I was hoping for
more military humor and no fanservice nonsense. It's just an annoyance to me.
Shame since I loved the actual series. Second Raid should be awesome though.
I still think Sousuke is one of the greatest characters ever created though.
Hilarious/Awesome!
I remember Second Raid being
very dramatic and emotional. I liked it more than the first series.
Hurrah!
Done with Fumoffu. Disappointed. Really liked the first 2 or 3 episodes and the
one where he helped the yakuza gang. That's about it though. Ah well.
Really? Not even the one at the
end with the nerve gas? Having a whole class think they're going to die is
always fun.
It was okay. I didn't DISLIKE a lot
of them, but I didn't like most of them either.

I'm demented enough to go back to NEG THE GOD out of hoping it were the year

Very cool. That kind of selfless

the only band I've heard of from that whole tour is Coheed And Cambria, and

Hm. Come to think of it I only recognize two of them. Boys Like Girls, and
Yellowcard, and Yellowcard is the only one I listen to. Well I hope she likes
more of them...
There's always Family Values Tour which I can trade things out to, because I
know she likes Evanescence a lot. Not sure how she feels about Korn though.
Damn. Well as into music as she is, hopefully she'll be familiar with more.
There's a number of alternative rock bands there (at least five), though there
were also a lot of people under... post hardcore I think. And punk rock.
Well... hope it all works out.
(Tabcef) i don't recognize a single one of them
hey jude is better
I recognize a lot of 'em because I've
had to sell the CDs. Other than that, I've only heard Yellowcard, Coheed and
maybe two or three others out of that whole hit parade.
I don't know what the hell my
mother did to this computer but this is ludicrous... I enter the room after she
was using it for a bit, it was fine before, then the "Start" bar and
Firefox had Windows' blue appearance (green start button). She claims it just
happened. Well I turn it off and turn it back on, Firefox is crashing trying to
load these two websites from the previous session (and i did not get the
message if I wanted to reload them) when I opened it, I finally get it to let
me close them out, and not only was the home page reset, ALL of my favorites
are gone. What the hell could she have done?! I don't have any idea how to get
back to some of them.

I didn't stay for it.
also the scene on the small sand isle thing has a remixed version of the theme

I'm lucky. All I've ever had is a mouth full of rotten teeth. No broken bones
as of yet.
That seems worse. Tooth pains are relatively constant and affect more sensitive
areas. I've only broken one bone in my heel, but it only hurt when I put
pressure on my foot.
(DirtyApple_SR) Teeth have a constant pain, like an ache
that you cant seem to find, ive broken my wrist then my ankle and they hurt
much more then teeth, trust me.
Say hi to Santa for me, IN HELL!
Didn't Captain Jack Sparrows Dad look like Captain hook without the hook?
I had the beginnings of cavaties.
Nothing painful.
...
Til' they started drilling the decayed pits the germs left in my molars. I've
also found that novacaine is losing it's effect on me.
I had my first cavity drilled
two years ago. It was completely painless. They even swabbed my gum with
something that half numbed it so I didn't feel the needle that totally numbed
it. That was the last time I've been to a dentist, actually. I should really
get a cleaning.
(Tabcef) These two new folks are completely misunderstanding the reason of what I'm doing.
I plan to be a dentist.
(Tabcef) System Shock 2's ending is HILARIOUS.
Oh god, I didn't see that one coming at all.
I mean, except the very last part of it.
That was way too cliché
What made you want to be a
dentist? It's a well known occupation, but it doesn't seem to be a popular
choice.
(Tabcef) Are you kidding?
Everyone I know who is in med wants it 'easy', so they want to become a
dentist.
For the money.
I usually end up laughing at them.
Anyone who wants to become a doctor for money is an idiot, pure and simple.
Finally have the Internet back
after moving.
Anyway, I've always wanted to be a dentist. I dunno, I had pretty bad teeth as
a kid, so through some chain of logic I thought it would be cool to learn about
teeth.
Seems I'll be moving soon too.
That'll make it my 5th address in the last 3 years. Good thing I had the
foresight to keep all of my stuff in boxes. Like last time same state, new
town.
(Im Not NEG) Geez Frieza o_O
7/7/07! Anybody win anything today?
I won a trip to work on what was
supposed to be a day off. Suerte.
(Im Not NEG) I managed to get 2 very hard achievements I've been working on for over a year now.
And today, I lose the save data.
****ing fantastic.
So I received a HDTV from my
uncle as a gift. It rocks.
(Im Not NEG) Grats. What brand/inches/colour?
It's a Philips 42" LCD,
black frame.
(Im Not NEG) Yum.
(Tabcef) This is fantastic, oh god.

Gotta teach those kids somehow.
Okay, I'm back from Austin and
now I'm leaving to Mexico. Busy busy busy.
(Im Not NEG) A dentist in Mexco. Hrm.
(Tabcef) If you wake up in a tub of ice and there's stitches
on your stomach, well..
Good luck.

CJayC is leaving us. Another
chapter in the saga of GameFAQs passes. In his honor, drinks are on the house
for the next ten minutes.
*toasts*
So, how's everyone's summer
been? I've been at work, which isn't bad. That about sums it up.
(Im Not NEG) Your always at work, Frieza.
For my goings on, my journal is usually the best place to look.
(Tabcef) My mind is rotting from inactivity.
Also I want to murder my driving teacher- being condescending isn't quite a way
to teach.
pssstttt
psobb has a private server, populated reall well. hack free.
it's wonderful.
(Im Not NEG) Do tell how to get in.
(Tabcef) i may be pernalized but oh well

Have you ever wanted to just heatbutt someone and then scream
"MOOOORTAALLL KOMBAAAAT!"?
'cause that's what I want to do to my driving teacher.
Well back from Mexico. Fun stuff.
*Wakes up and wipes the dust off
then procedes to tap dance on some corpses*
Well it feels good to do that again.
(Breaks out the special booze
hidden in the piano)
Frieza: And just where have you been? Those corpses aren't gonna dance on
themselves, you know! Well, unless we use necromancy. But Ace hates zombies.
(Tabcef) Ahahaha, oh god.
The main characters in the Grand Theft Auto games are great.
Somehow, apathy towards felonies is funny to me.
give me dem chips
(also, psobb is fun)
(Im Not NEG) Post 100
(Tabcef) Why does the death of animals affect people so much,
compared to the death of other people?
I find it pretty freaking messed up.
Anyone know what GameFAQs's
purge parameters are? How many days a topic has to be inactive for it to be
eligible for deletion?
The daily purge process
removes older topics from boards every night at 4AM GameFAQs time. Depending on
how many messages a board has, the following schedule is followed:
* Under 100 Messages: 30 Days
* 100-250 Messages: 20 Days
* 250-500 Messages: 15 Days
* 500-1000 Messages: 12 Days
* 1000-2500 Messages: 10 Days
* 2500-5000 Messages: 7 Days
* 5000-7500 Messages: 6 Days
* 7500-10000 Messages: 5 Days
* 10000-12500 Messages: 4 Days
* 12500-15000 Messages: 3 Days
* 15000-30000 Messages: 2 Days
* 30000-50000 Messages: 1 Day
* Over 50000 Messages: 1/2 Day
Let's hope we never get purged. It's

Well today I am 18. And like last
year, I celebrate with lots of books and papers. wtfpwnd
Oh hell, we can't have the bar
getting purged now, can we?
Indeed. Must make random posts
at least weekly.
(Im Not NEG) Why do I never get proper replies in my topics? Ffs.
So apparently I'm emotionally
scarred. >_> Lovely.
Got to a point Tuesday where I had to talk about a sensitive subject in my life
when trying to present a symbolic project (It was supposed to be your life in
one design) and not only was I having trouble talking about it, which I would
normally attribute to a simple nervousness, my body was shaking very, very
noticeably.
Why me?
Well, it was a "sensitive
subject"... People handle things differently, that's all.
I guess but this has never happened
before. Not shaking. Under most conditions I'm fine discussing things but
certain conditions trigger an unnecessarily drastic reaction in me. Couple
months ago the same subject was weighing on my mind though I wasn't going to
talk about it, but my friend was trying to help me feel better. Called her up
later in the day to apologize to her and thank her for her concern, but
something about discussing that much about how I was feeling was causing me
unneeded panic. In other conditions I can divulge all details and not flinch.
Problem is that the situations that they occur in are so similar that I don't
know what the trigger is, and the results are completely different in either
case. So something's up, but I don't know what. As far as I can tell it's not
interfering with daily life, but I still need to remedy this.
(Im Not NEG) I love the irony of my previous post being
ignored.
Sorry, carry on.
We're done.
And your question was ignored because it's most likely content matter, which
would be just about anyone's first guess. You must have considered that
yourself.
(Im Not NEG) Your reply was idiotic.
Idiotic or not, I'm right. Make
your topics more interesting if you want people to respond since whatever
you're doing now is not working to your satisfaction.
I usually either have nothing to
say or can't watch the videos you post because I have no sound at work.
Whenever I had an assignment where I had to talk about something I didn't want
to reveal about myself, I usually made something up. One time in Spanish class
I had to describe myself or something I didn't feel like doing, so I wrote
about Captain Commando. If you want to try to deal with it, I'd say you need to
start by understanding what you're afraid of. I'd guess rejection since that's
common, but who knows. Anyway, good luck with it.
As far as diagnosing the
catalysts for the shaking, you need to identify certain parallel conditions for
each case. I know you said the events are extremely similar with different
results, but it's more than likely that there is something common behind each
episode.
And NEG, you should look at your last post.
"Your reply was idiotic."
Magi's post addressed your question, and was in no way idiotic. People avoid
your topics because you attack any comment which offends you in some
insignificant way. You don't reason with others, and quite frankly, your posts
often exhibit a fair amount of immaturity mixed with arrogance.
Ironically, you will probably never address my comment, since you never have
before.
(Im Not NEG) Magi's post addressed your question, and was

I post links to news, sometimes discussion threads (though I haven't for a
while now), sometimes lyrics, video threads.
Know the two replies I get for the past few threads over the last few months?
1)Tabcaf saying something nonsencial, even once saying he does it dileberatly
to off-rail my topics
2)Xeon making a "Your fat" remark.
Not only are my threads ignored now or people don't care whatever the hell they
say to me, I seem to have reached a point were respect has been thrown out the
window, as well.
Magi was idiotic in saying what he said because subject matter clearly doesn't
seem to matter. It could be a 10 page pasted article on aliens found in
someones anus or the longest, bestest poem in the World, and it'll get ignored.
Except for the two utter idiots who post.
Oh, and please don't post the flipping obvious of "well, what do you
expect us to reply to a lyric thread". Ta
I'm not demanding any different here, I'm just pointing out how things have
been going lately.
Except that people did try to
reply intelligently to your threads. And you know what? It almost always ended
in you getting upset over someone's differing opinion and making personal
remarks on the comment maker, after which you wouldn't post anything worth
replying to. And truthfully, I think a few people lost some respect for you
when you went on your tirade about Amy Rose, feeling the need to make
disparaging comments wherever she posted.
You're really coming off as easily
offended. Again. And you're attacking people in response to that which is
unwarranted. How many times have you been told that your behavior is often
unpleasant when talking to you here? It's not a matter of disrespect. It's a
legitimate statement that you should consider addressing. Your viewpoint is the
problem here. I have no illusions as to knowing what you're like in person but
if you behave the same way then attempting to change this behavior would
probably be very beneficial for you. You don't need to start name-calling over
trivial things. I sincerely doubt Tabcef is deliberately trying to
"derail" your topic and he's not an "utter idiot" because
he's posting other things. Most of us stray in our conversation. Go check out
my most recent one again, the conversation wasn't exactly based in the prompt.
No one is getting offended by such things except you, and there's no need.
I don't usually feel like I have anything to say in response to your topics.
It's nothing malicious and it's not being disrespectful. Stop being rude and try
to add more of a prompt for response if it's that important to you. If you post
a video or something then I'll probably watch it, sometimes I read articles,
but I'll often just say "interesting" or something to that effect. I
don't have much of a reason to respond. As for your "how should we respond
to lyrics?", I wouldn't have asked that, but it's a valid question and you
shouldn't get offended for that being ignored.
Also, in case you haven't noticed, this social board has a moderately atypical
social structure. The bar is for the most part the social board. It's a
tradition of sorts that the majority of our posts are placed here. Other topics
generally get less attention. It's like this is the city and anything outside
it is the urban society. The more active posters are focused in here as well,
where as the other members who have receded into quietly observing most of the
time don't post in here but will occasionally post in outside topics.
Actually looking into my topic you
were the first one to respond, and you responded with something COMPLETELY
unrelated and nonsensical. Yet you're insulting other people for that.
(Im Not NEG) As for your "how should we respond to
lyrics?", I wouldn't have asked that, but it's a valid question and you
shouldn't get offended for that being ignored.
You didn't even understand why I said that, did you? ITS OBVIOUS THAT A LYRIC
THREAD SHOULD GET NO ATTENTION OR AT THE VERY LEAST COMMENTS LIKE
"INTRESTING".
Good lord, next thing you'll be saying is "Press A to jump!"
And once again, you exhibit
selective argumentation. Another probable reason people don't reply to your
discussion topics.
(Im Not NEG) And no, this topic may be the most with posts but
it was never for discussing anything of use, its a bar topic for roleplay, fun,
and amusement. It gives no reason for topics outside to be nonsensical and poo
most of the time. Its what makes this board. The bar only ever did a long time
ago, not now.
By Tabcaf posting things in my threads, I don't mean him suddenly talking about
cheese. I mean
Topic: Do you like oranges? What kind of oranges?
Tabcaf: ::insert lyrics::
Of course, since you pay no attention, you wouldn't even have the faintest
idea.
Actually looking into my topic you were the first one to
respond, and you responded with something COMPLETELY unrelated and nonsensical.
Yet you're insulting other people for that.
What? The wallpaper topic? I posted my wallpaper.
He's referring to the topic
"She Knows Me So Well". And again you don't address some of
the issues raised in the topic.
BTW, it's Tabcef, not Tabcaf.
(Im Not NEG) You want more? Sure.
I sincerely doubt Tabcef is deliberately trying to "derail" your
topic and he's not an "utter idiot" because he's posting other
things.
Much like Radiohead, Tabcef's only purpose is to post nothing of any sense. In
my topics, anyway. Go look. Much like Xeon, who merely insults. At least
chriscaffe confronted my views.
As for getting angry at differing opinions? You make it sound like its wrong to
have them. Have we ever argued over a game? Over something like what should the
bar be named? No. Its usually been me, expressing political views, and you lot
arguing it. In Amys case, It was me expressing my views about her.
So no, I don't get aggressive over everything, or don't become rude to anyone
that expresses anything otherwise to my own views. Sometimes my sarcasm doesn't
get understood, oddly, some of you are talentless borefests when it comes to
comedy and sarcasm, mistaking every post I make for aggression and truth.
If you can't seperate that, thats not my bloody problem.
1) You really should realize that
Tabcef's and radiohead's posts do actually have some glimpse of meaning, for
the most part anyway. It's become their gimmick, and at least for radiohead,
it's been there for a while. Deal with it.
2) Anger in itself isn't a bad thing when you hear a divergent opinion. Lashing
out at someone instead of addressing their argument is. For example, making a
topic saying "Bush is a moron" and providing an article/video. The
next post disagrees and doesn't believe that Bush is a completely inept
president, in which case you often say "You're just a bloody idiot
then." If you can't see the immaturity in that, well that's not my bloody
problem.
3) You DO get aggressive over everything. "Expressing your views"
about Amy? You were tastelessly insulting her and for quite a time, beating a
dead horse about it.
4) Don't insult my intelligence and comprehension by claiming I can't
distinguish comedy and sarcasm. Many of your posts do contain sarcasm. A lot
more of them don't, and if they do, it isn't conveyed well. Sarcasm is lost on
the Internet.
I'm done trying to argue my point.
It's obvious that you're not going to evaluate your own actions in favor of
looking down on the rest of us. Why don't you try getting the opinions of other
people not involved with this board? I know that the vast majority of them will
agree that you're the one with the problem, assuming it's not a unanimous
decision. One simple fact that a lot of people have trouble accepting is that
if multiple people are telling you one thing about yourself, even if you don't
recognize or accept it, the problem exists, and you are the one who is wrong.
People tell me I talk too quietly sometimes, and multiple people from different
social groups have told me this. I can't tell the difference in my volume level
myself, but the problem is obviously there so I try to remain conscious of
that. Fixing these little issues that others bring up help people operate, and
it becomes second nature after you exercise the remedy enough. Some simple
advice that you should at least consider. I sincerely hope you do, bleak a
chance as it may be. I'd prefer to enjoy talking with you as opposed to
tolerating it.
Good luck to you Trunks if you still care to try, but I don't think you're
going to get anywhere.
Now to more pleasant conversation:
What's up Frieza?
Well, you just confused Magnus
with Trunks again. There's that. (Magnus was Gamefreakforever). Otherwise, I've
been thinking of doing something with RPG Maker. Anyone have experience with
it?
We don't mean to insult, NEG. Well, except for Xiaon. Maybe Noistank and
Madman. It's just a dead board with an aging population, you know? We either
can't think of anything to say or can't be bothered or whatever. It doesn't
mean we didn't like the post or we're ignoring you. I was actually still
giggling about the Shadow cooking thing on the way in today and wish I could
think of a way to sneak it into a post at the GHZ.
(Im Not NEG) Well said Frieza. Odd how "The Two
Maggys" from the bar rather not say the things you've said, instead
adopting a "OMG THERES SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU FOOL, LAWL DONT ARGUE WITH
ME LAWL GET OUTSIDE SUPPORT LAWL" approach.
People can't be arsed, people have better things to do, some don't care, some
like to insult. Like I said from the start, stuff I already know. Just stated
the fact.
The Shadow topic was one of those topics I did expect more comment on, indeed.
Instead, well, you saw what I got instead. Glad you've seen it.
Become more like Frieza you utter weirdos!
See, but you're not accepting or
recognizing any of the criticism that's been brought upon you. Which supports
my aforementioned claims. But really, you should at least recognize some of the
validity in Magi's last post.
Why do I never get proper replies in my topics?
People can't be arsed, people have better things to do, some don't care,
some like to insult. Like I said from the start, stuff I already know. Just
stated the fact.
If you've already known, why bother bringing it up? A part of your sarcasm I
suppose. Anyway, it seems Frieza's mediating has brought this discussion to a
close so I won't bother anymore.
And I take offense at being called a "Maggy". What in the hell is
that?
(Im Not NEG) Would you rather be called The Magpoop Double
Act?
As for stating in the obvious, why shouldn't I? It was to make a discussion,
bring it into the light for those who didn't know, and whatnot. Because its not
nice getting no replies sometimes when its a good thread? Or getting insults
and whatnot? Duh?
A bit obvious really, maggy. Even a wood-chewing hyena could figure that one
out.
Like I've said, I'm done. It's no
fun talking with someone who refuses to acknowledge their own errors.
Well, you just confused Magnus
with Trunks again. There's that. (Magnus was Gamefreakforever). Otherwise, I've
been thinking of doing something with RPG Maker. Anyone have experience with it?
I don't know why I keep doing that... Sorry Magnus. Anyway, what are you
thinking about making?
It's all good. What happened to
Trunks anyway?
(Im Not NEG) Errors? I have none, obviously!
Do this favor for me then, guys. Every time Xiaon makes a insultive
comment (like in my latest thread) mod him.
Can you do that much? Ta. Incase you forget, I'll keep reminding you every time
he does a poop, here.
Fine, I can do that, but I'm also
going to mod you the next time you start insulting people.
Frankly, I don't see the point.
If the past is any indication, you're not going to change.
So it's of no consequence to me.
(Im Not NEG) Fine, I can do that, but I'm also going to
mod you the next time you start insulting people.
Sounds fine to me. :D
If the past is any indication, you're not going to
change.
Change what exactly? I'll have you know I'm wearing fresh clean lemon-fresh
underwear today.
I'm sure you can figure it out
smart guy.
You could do without the insults
though, NEG. When you do it during an argument, especially when you sound
annoyed, it paints the whole thing as scathing and aggressive whether we know
it's a joke or not.
I'm hoping to make an RPG out of a game I've been playing with my brother since
we were 5. It's more of a world than a game, but almost every game we played
together was fit into this world somehow. It's pretty complicated; last year I
put together an 85 page glossary of important concepts and characters. I did
another game for it several years ago using Blades of Exile, which turned out
pretty good (bigger than any game using the engine in history. By luck and lack
of testing I surpassed program limitations that everyone thought limited it to
100 dungeons). Normally I wouldn't dare start such a project with my schedule,
but I've been so stuck by divine inspiration that I have to write this in some
form or other and an RPG seems most appropriate (we used to play most of our
games with dice and HP). I'll try to keep it short simple, but we'll see.
And I'd prefer there be no modding in the bar for the sake of the archives, but
if you must.
(Tabcef) let's fight like gentlemen
Your problem is that you don't
have any rhythm!
(Im Not NEG) The post is still up, Jim. I sure hope you've reported for the sake of mankind.
Another post is on the Shadow topic. Report at will.

Um. Technically nothing, college student. I didn't think I could manage a job

but, i really hate that character that it's focused on
Edda and Hulen(Hammer) are much cooler, and have much, much cooler attacks.
oh yeah, edda and hulen are the main, main characters
hulen is the brown haired dude with the sword

The sun confessed its presence through the opaque whiteness that kept the
earthbound from the vision of heaven, bleak clouds reflecting a light beyond
the visible spectrum that hurt to look at. It stretched as far as the eye could
see, covering the city like a crinkled sheet. Beneath it a cold heir wandered
listlessly through the streets, stirring the ashes of forgotten lives, of
smothered hopes and dreams it never knew. The embers beneath had long since
died.
From atop a decaying building, a dark furred echidna looked down at his friend
with a somber expression. Taking a deep breath of the dust-choked air, he
turned his gaze and his concerns aside as the unnatural silence pervading the
dead land gave way to a slow strumming that seemed to come from everywhere at
once, a quiet, solemn melody on a bass guitar that sounded like the amp was
turned too high. Though nothing stirred in the lifeless mounds of debris, he
could feel an intensity rising in the air. Some distant terror was approaching,
furiously raging behind the blind overhead, threatening to break through and
swallow the already desolate world below. Frieza marched resolutely through the
fields of wreckage in his wake, the frigid air contrasting the inferno burning
in his blood toned eyes.
The strumming became a roar as Spades cut loose and Shiro joined in on drums.
The rising dread exploded into reality and flashing images of hellish fire
flickered wildly across the sky. Frieza’s crystal guitar, its shaft stuck into
the roof behind them with its plates floating in a circle around it, let out
beautiful but tormented cries.
As the music quieted, the storm subsided. The empty city returned exactly as it
had been and Frieza continued on unaffected. Ace began.
“Does it hurt to remember?”
At his word, long forgotten memories of uncounted worlds and uncountable people
faded in and out of the tyrant’s mind with dizzying speed, projected on the
canvas in the sky. They were images of fear and despair, of torture and inhuman
cruelty, of planets blasted to nothing by a horrible power. He brushed them
aside.
“Does it help to forget?”
Wine, women, and all the pleasures of the universe. Frieza knew them well. The
song carried their sweet caress to all his senses, returning to him the
familiar decadence that was once his existence. The delirious ecstasies that
few men ever know but that he had casually sipped each day drew him on, but
offered only to tantalize him. He seized them, but could no longer indulge in
them. Something within him rejected their illusion, leaving him only bitter
emptiness. The ceiling of clouds thinned.
“Do you know what you started…”
The reptilian beast’s unwavering pace was finally shaken as the band reached a
razor sharp note. The truth of one last image, the righteous stare of a man
with flowing brown hair and a black cape, pierced his stolid stride. He winced
as a spark of golden light jumped from his chest, igniting a pile of rubble
beside him.
“…when you lit the fuse of regret?”
The flames spread steadily behind him, keeping perfect pace with his walking.
He paid them no mind and continued on indifferently. But Spades and Shiro could
discern his vulnerability and leapt in with a chorus of conscience to strike at
it. Ace switched from subtly taunting the former emperor to a more direct
attack. He raced down the side of the dilapidated ruin and landed on top of a
pile of rocks in front of Frieza.
There’s not a reason why,
“You’ve come undone.”
Accenting the insult, Ace took
one of the chunks of brittle cement and threw it at him. It smashed harmlessly
on his callous face and the proud warrior retaliated with a blast of power
strong enough to vaporize a tank. The multiplanar musician deftly dodged,
leaving the blast to decimate the ground behind him. But in a mistake most
uncharacteristic of the battle-hardened emperor, Frieza hadn’t accounted for
the splash back the beam would cause and could only close his eyes as a storm
of flaming stone rushed over him. As he wiped the soot from his face, something
hit him in the back of the head.
There’s nothing left to justify,
“This can’t go on.”
He turned and fired another ball of his fearsome might at the echidna, but
again he dodged and again the prince was cursed with a face full of burning
debris. He growled through clenched teeth as he was pelted for a third time and
quickly turned to find his old drinking buddy standing boldly in the middle of
the street before him.
There’s nothing left inside,
“As I walk this broken land!”
His rage erupted from his outstretched arms, decimating everything before him.
He shielded himself as best he could as the force of his own attack sent him
flying back. Fighting his frustration and scampering to regain his footing on
the broken asphalt he searched madly through the rising smoke for a sign of the
insolent beast that dared to torment him, oblivious to the fact that he was now
completely surrounded by fire.
Cause you’re living on a paper sun,
“Blind to all the damage done.”
Unseen to Frieza in his fury, the rolling clouds above blended in and out of
one another until, with a dim flash of white light, they were replaced with an
enormous circle of lined paper that stretched to the horizon. A large sweat
drop hung on the brows of the Argonian/Tonberry duo at the wavy lines cut
around the edge and the yellow crayon smiley face crudely drawn in the middle.
But at the same time their stomachs sank at the unnervingly cheerful sky, for
between those waves they could see traces of the nightmare that hid behind it.
Living on a paper sun,
”Waiting for the tide to turn.”
Frieza’s pride continued to stoke his wrath. Unable to locate the mocking voice
that echoed all around him, he began indiscriminately blasting everything.
Every shot kicked up a wave of wreckage that seemed to throw itself straight
back at him, but he was well beyond the point of being able to feel it. He wore
the superheated dust clouds like a mantle, welcoming the fervor as he
mindlessly vented his pain.
Living on a paper sun,
“You can’t hide and you can’t run.”
After he’d bled away enough of his energy, he finally relented in exhaustion.
When the smoke cleared and he beheld the destruction he’d caused, guilt pounded
at his subconscious.
All your dreams have come and gone,
“Living on a paper sun.”
The icy serpent regained his composure and resumed his unrelenting journey,
stalking darkly over the flaming path, burns and scars covering his body. The
paper sun remained. His spirit guitar cried out in agony.
Ace rejoined the others and gave the signal to turn up the pressure. They
happily obliged, and the burning cityscape warped through a span of incipit
lights, emerging as another wasteland that was scarcely different but different
enough to stop Frieza in his tracks. The buildings had advanced in technology
and the ground was formed by barren orange rock instead of dirt and pavement,
but this alien land was frighteningly familiar to the misanthropic overlord. He
was on the planet Vegeta, surrounded by trembling Saiya-jins panicking and
pointing at the horizon.
“Do you still hear ‘em
screaming?”
Cracks webbed through the earth, quickly filling with rising magma. Frieza
braced himself to weather the imminent explosion of the planet he had destroyed
but found himself suddenly lacking the strength, as though he were as weak as
one of the Saiya-jins being incinerated all around him. His footing gave way
and he floated for a few terrifying seconds before the warrior planet’s burning
heart consumed him with its final breath.
He wailed as the pain of a thousand deaths wracked his body. After a brief
eternity he landed quivering on his knees, wet grass clinging to him. It
should’ve provided his scorched flesh with cool relief, but even this gentle
dew felt like it was boiling. Then the relativity of it dawned on him. The
grass was cool but, though he burned as though in flames, his callous exterior
was still as cold as the vacuum of space.
“And does the fear make you run?”
The planetary fire that was rushing over him drained away and collected around
the body of the figure in front of him. He arose to find himself surrounded by
islands in a vast ocean, dark clouds flashing unnatural lighting on the blazing
skyline. Namek, another of his victims, in its last throws of life. And before
him stood the reason he’d hated it for so long: the legendary Super Saiya-jin,
embodiment of the answer to every cry out against his malevolence. He shivered
at the sight if its eyes, condemning him with their holy azure.
It raised its hand with fatal speed and a golden beam of energy washed the
emperor’s upper body. But the blast did not subject him to the pain of which he
was so deserving. This light shone right through his body, through his pride
and all the lies that shielded his eyes until he was forced to see. He saw the
grief and the sorrow, the fear and indignant hopelessness, and all manner of
the suffering he’d caused in his long life. And in it, at long last, he saw the
truth.
“Is the anger inside of you…”
His arms leapt across his face and he threw himself to the ground, out of the
path of the searing luminance. His muscles shook violently as he fought with
all of his ego to hold back the flume of tears surging in his eyes, until finally
the corpuscles burst and blood ran down his cheeks instead. As the flow of
light ceased he rose, a quaking mess, and attacked the Saiya-jin in
humiliation.
“…a gift from father to son?”
But his fist passed through it as its body faded into the fire around it.
Frieza quickly withdrew his roasting arm and stepped back as a new image formed
in the fire, that of the dictator King Kold. It flared up as it rebuked him.
I don’t believe in you,
“You’ve come undone.”
He turned away, guarded his face from the stinging heat. As he started to walk
away from it a fissure opened in the earth before him. Plumes of raging orange
leapt out at him, materializing the image of Demetrium.
I don’t believe in what you do,
“This can’t go on.”
Again he turned, his only thought to escape the terrible blaze consuming him.
Once more he was stopped, this time by the impact of a falling volcanic bolder,
it enormous blaze heralding an image more disturbing than any yet. He saw
himself, shining with golden light, denigration in his stare.
I don’t believe in you,
“As I walk this broken land!”
The broken villain clutched his head in anguish and dashed straight through it.
Cause you’re living on a paper sun,
“Blind to all the damage done.”
The Armageddon sky swirled again into the cheery paper sun, smiling down on the
fleeing alien as the world literally fell apart around him.
Living on a paper sun,
”Waiting for the tide to turn.”
The roaring oceans leapt through
the sky in a vain attempt to escape the tectonic chaos beneath, its towering
waves crashing over Frieza as he leapt from island to island to escape the
hellish heaving in his heart.
Living on a paper sun,
“You can’t hide and you can’t run.”
The waters were quickly swallowed by lava and the ground gave way to a fiery
abyss.
All your dreams have come and gone,
“Living on a paper-”
Now weaving through comets of molten rock over a lake of fire, some semblance
of sense finally returned to the cold-blooded beast. He flew straight up,
preparing to leave the doomed planet and take refuge in the emptiness of space.
But the inferno chasing him reached up and grabbed his legs, shaping itself
into burning chains that dragged him back down. As the fire rose around him,
more chains wafted forth and shackled his arms, spreading wide the 4 appendages
with irresistible force. He hung trembling in wide-eyed terror, body and soul
completely exposed, the menacing grins of Spades and Shiro reflected in the
heat. The deafening boom of Namek’s final cry drown out their laughter and fire
replaced Frieza’s reality. He screamed in hellish agony as the never-ending
conflagration passed endlessly through him, every ember the soul of an innocent
consumed by his wicked passion.
You will discover
the way to suffer.
And like no other,
you feed the fire.
At last, the flames of Frieza’s suffering reached high enough to catch the
paper sun. The spellsingers watched with anticipation as a burning hole
expanded until all was revealed. Their worry was apparent as they beheld the
endless void bathed in the vermilion light of the colossal ball that was its
focus. A deathball. Its smothering aura pressed at their minds, chipped at
their hearts, and buried their souls. It was a burning sensation that robbed
them of life, a dull and familiar pain that could not be stopped, only
appeased.
It was guilt. It was a ball of his guilt. And it was coming down on them.
The din of Frieza’s torment subsided with the illusion, and his spasming body
fell back to the streets of Metro City, its fire now reaching the heavens. He
shuffled wildly to his feet and was about to seek asylum, but found himself
surrounded by the musical trio. His pride was broken, his lies and
rationalizations shattered, and his heart exposed. There was nowhere left for
him to run. He was finally ready to hear the truth. They sang it to him one
more time.
There’s not a reason why,
“You’ve come undone.”
He staggered, as though the words had struck him physically.
There’s nothing left to justify,
“This can’t go on.”
He flinched as the lyrics hit him again, eyes wide and desperate.
There’s nothing left inside,
“As I walk this broken land!”
He fell to his knees, arms over his head, roaring madly into the crimson
oblivion descending upon them as showers of golden light poured from his heart.
Cause you’re living on a paper sun,
“Blind to all the damage done.”
Living on a paper sun,
”Waiting for the tide to turn.”
Living on a paper sun,
“Waiting...for the niiiiiight!”
All your dreams have come and gone.
Spades shredded on with satisfaction as the song drew to its close, but his
expression gradually fell as the progression went on. Something was wrong.
Frieza wasn’t getting up. The fire started by his heart was starting to envelop
him and everything else. The heat was getting more intense, and the ground was
starting to vibrate under the gravity of the coming obliteration. If he didn’t
stop playing the monstrous deathball would come crashing down on them, but if
he did then the unremitting fires of his pain would consume the whole world.
Spades began adding some of his
own riffs to extend the song, trying to maintain a balance between the speed of
the deathball and the spread of the fire, but it was only a matter of time. He
tightened his grip on the Redstreak as it burst into flames and hopped to keep
his balance as the ground started cracking. He turned expectantly to Ace,
seeking his expertise on how best to handle the broken emperor.
“Do something!”
Ace dashed up to the whimpering mess of trembling flesh that was his friend and
shook him. He looked up at him with the most pitiful expression he’d ever seen,
tears of blood still streaming from his bewildered eyes. The echidna did the
only thing he could think to do when faced with such a sorry creature. He
backhanded Frieza as hard as he could, sending him sailing two blocks down the
road until it rose up to meet him. To everyone’s shock and horror, he struck it
at just the right angle that it bounced him straight up. Into the deathball.
Spades strummed the final note and quickly dissipated into the ring with his
Tonberry drummer as the tremendous explosion blew Ace and everything else
across the city. Nearly two minutes later, he burrowed his way out of the dust
covering him and found himself in the middle of a crater he could barely see
the end of.
“Scratch one more section of Metro,” he mused, looking up into the stars. The
very atmosphere around this part of the planet had been blown away, leaving a
window into the infinite cosmos. The crimson furred adventurer stared through
it and pondered the life of the fallen tyrant. Galaxies of guilt, left to
fester for who knows how many years, released all at once. It had been as
overwhelming as he’d expected.
The deathball had been several planets in diameter. It should’ve vaporized the
Earth instantly and probably much of the surrounding system. Frieza must’ve
been conscious enough to absorb most of the blast.
He watched as the air began to find its way back into place and the heavens
closed up, leaving him with an empty blue sky save the clouds of ash drifting
in the wind, Frieza’s no doubt somewhere among them.
“Why did you want to relive that, Friez? I told you it was dangerous…”
“And I told you,” said the glowing golden being as it materialized behind him,
“I survived it the first time. I sure as hell wasn’t going to let it kill me
now.”
Ace turned to the peace-clad
entity and grinned. Love and understanding hummed within the light of its
crystalline adornments. Clarity shone from its ruby eyes. It raised its hand,
drawing up a soot covered spirit guitar from deep within the crater. It shook
the instrument, its glassy surface magnetically repelling the dust partials,
and deposited it in pseudo-space storage.
“Thanks again though,” he crooned in a strong, gentle voice. “I wouldn’t have
been able to do that to myself.”
“Can’t you just reminisce about your past like a normal person,” his friend
replied, more than a little exhausted by the whole ordeal.
“I could,” the radiant being replied, “But as you can see, it would be
impossible to capture the full potency of my past with mere memories. And I
wanted to insure that the impact was enough to smother those feelings that’ve
built up over the years. Besides,” he looked down with a devious yet grateful
smile at the otherworldly anthropomorph, “Why should I bother with something so
mundane when I have a perfectly good spellsinger around?”
“You owe me a beer,” was his answer. “No, you owe me a whole truck of beer for
that one, MAN.”
“I think we can do a little better than beer. In fact, this whole thing
reminded me of a little planet a few light years into the gamma quadrant of the
Ruben galaxy that has some fantastic wine and-”
“I’ve had enough of your memories for today, Friez,” he tiredly interrupted.
“Duff’ll do just fine.”
“Suit yourself,” Frieza tranquilly answered, and the two left the destruction
behind them to go get wasted at the bar.
Hiss, says I!
(Tabcef) contra 4 is amazing
That's what she said.
That wasn't in any way demeaning to
Tabcef! You need to try harder next time. I know you can do it! I have faith in
you? o_o
Ah, best "that's what she said" I ever did was in one of these
topics. They rarely fit so well! XD
Found it! :D
Frieza:
I'd forgotten that you two knew each other...that's sure interesting. I guess
that's how you got here in the first place, huh Nemo?
Nemo:
More or less. He saw me laying on the side of the road in a puddle of my own
vomit and carried me in.
(AKA "Yes")
Moi:
That's what she said!
Nemo:
What the hell is that supposed to mean? *Glare*
Yay. :3
(Im Not NEG) Another two Xiaon posts on Jade Rouges thread
and the Mario Galaxy thread.
Mod em, ta.
(Tabcef) i realized why i don't life half life 2:
half life 2 kinda sucks it has no good guns seriously
it has:
gun that shoots bullets
gun that shoots the same bullets except faster
gun that shoots the same bullets except more
gun that shoots alien bullets except faster
rocket launcher
crossbow
gimmick gun 5000
FEAR has the best guns in any FPS:
it has:
badass cannon that shoots explosions of force or something:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=JEVPXF-Pzos
an actual laser gun:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=LXrzywPYurk
and pretty much the best minigun in a game ever:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=exlJnuKSwR8
really the only problem with FEAR is that it's sound effects for guns don't
match the ridiculous amount of damage they cause
also the videos don't showcase the laser gun's badass reloading animation
Half-Life 2 and FEAR are
different styles of FPS games. And they both rock hard.
(Tabcef) yeah FEAR is about actually being interesting/fun
I quite disagree, as I find
Half-Life 2 both more interesting and more fun than FEAR.
I don't play FPS games! :D
...
Aw, now I'm gonna be ostracized. ;_;
(Im Not NEG) Posts are still up, mod em.
Not modding is the equilivent of ignoring a war going on, shutting your ears
and going "Lalalalalala", aka to the person who said simply to
ignore.
Don't be so idiotic.
Your analogy is blown way out of
proportion. Don't be so idiotic.
(Tabcef) WHAT ABOUT US . ,MAN!
THAT'S IT MAN!
WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO NOW, MAN!?
GAME OVER MAN
GAME OVER!
(Im Not NEG) Funny how you don't even argue my comment, Mag.
Did I mention you promised?
Posts are still up, mod em.
Actually, GM's the only one who
said he would.
Frieza: Happy Thanksgiving!
(Slams giant roasted pterodactyl on table)
Frieza: I had to use Trunks's time machine to locate us a suitable bird.
(ConsumerOfBeer) Enjoy stuffing your faces. I will.
Happy Thanksgiving! ^_^ My family
is very untraditional. We don't do turkey. Instead we just get whatever each of
us wants. Makes more sense though, I'm not grateful for turkey because it so
frequently ends up dry and not tasting great. I'm very grateful for steak and
chicken though! We've had a sushi boat a couple of times. Wonder what's going
to be at my parents' house tonight...
Aw man, I really do want to try a pterodactyl. It would probably taste
delicious... Which brings up an interesting though, which dinosaurs do you
think would have white meat (or the white meat equivalent "pork" meat
type)?

All your arguing seems one-sided to me, I haven't been able to see NEG's posts
for a few weeks. I take it that analogy was some kind of attack? His demeanor
was unpleasant so I just removed him from my world. Honestly it's a much more
positive environment, he was really the only one behaving in a negative manor.
Not to mention all the repeat spam posts are gone, which was annoying in of
itself. I like this place better now.
interesting thought*
There was no argument made in
your post, so there was nothing for me to argue against. Except for your inane
analogy, which is quote here for GM:
"Not modding is the equilivent of ignoring a war going on, shutting
your ears and going "Lalalalalala", aka to the person who said simply
to ignore.
Don't be so idiotic."
Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving! I'm with GM about the traditional turkey; I'm
having steak tonight. Yum.
Quoted even.
(Xiaon) you better believe this is a war
not a food fight i'm afraid
(ConsumerOfBeer) A t-rex isn't too dissimilar from a chicken. Maybe they'd have white meat.
They strike me as very red meat by
size alone. I white meat behemoth would just seem silly to me. Hm... Now I'm
very curious where white meat originated. Or, seeing as aquatic animals came
first and except for mammals those are all white meat, where red meat
originated. Puzzling.
I never thought I'd ponder the distant origins of my food. o_o
I dunno, I envision t-rex meat as
red, much for the same reason as Magi's.

(Tabcef) you know, out of all the final fantasies
final fantasy 8 was the best
i mean look at the intro:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=_pZ2ibvZb2Q
totally awesome.
plus the ending is a giant ass downer where everyone dies
seriously, what's up with that
oh yeah drakengard is seriously one of the best games of all
time, plotwise
because it goes from happy happy happy
and you get a happy ending
to totally f-ed up 'HOW DID THIS HAPPEN'
to 'THE UNIVERSE IS FALLING APART AAAAAAAAAAA'
and you kill giant floating babies who are eating the population while the
world goes to hell
and the only background music is static
it's the only game i can really think of that has such an amazing tone shift
from 'generic fantasy melodrama'
to
'WHERE THE HELL DID THIS COME FROM AAAA'
i wonder if drakengard 2 has the same thing

Yep.
(Im Not NEG) Problems with the Golden Axe remake:
You only play as the girl, no he-man, no dwarf.
The "main" sections are flying sections, with only "some"
ground sections.
Its not even out yet for a fair bit, but what the hell are they thinking.
(answer: an even crappier version of Lair with Sega IP)
(Tabcef) they need to make a remake of nba jam
BOOM SHAKALAKA
or comix zone
way to go sketch!
OH YEAH
(what the $(@! was that?)
I'm still waiting for Streets of
Rage 4.
RACKAPAW! Or supposedly, GRAND UPPER!
(Im Not NEG) The guy who made SOR (or the composer, or both)
offered to make Streets Of Rage 4 for the last gen consoles (GC/Xbox/PS2) but
Sega said no.
They even said they would pay for the development of the game with thier own
money, but Sega disagreed.
Sega is too high up Sammys arse to be able to do anything at the moment,
really. They've lost near to all creative freedom.
There was a very early version of Comix Zone in the works for Saturn, just to note.
Yeah, they mentioned that on that
website you posted before right? Such a disappointment.
(Im Not NEG) Quite. Not that many would have got to play it, no proper Sonic title meant to sale of Saturn to me, no matter what other classics the system might have had.
meant no*
What are you talking about no
proper Sonic title, look at Sonic 3d Bla-
Never mind.

This caught my eye on the first
page:
"Nemo is very involved in his normal life. He's crazy about this girl he's
been seeing for months [actually about a year and a half when this was posted].
She's a nice person, though I didn't talk to her much. Decided to go to the
same college as her. I've barely talked to him in the past few months, mostly
just see him walking around from place to place with her. I wouldn't count on
him ever returning."
I guess Magi posted that in early May of this year, so at the time it was true.
Unfortunately, we broke up about a month after that. Not a bad thing though,
we're still extremely close friends and both down at the University of Arizona
(although she drove back to Phoenix yesterday and I'm coming back up tomorrow
since the semester's over).
Also, most noticeably probably for you guys...I can't for the life of me
remember what email address I registered as captnemo under...the one I thought
it was is apparently this name.
Which is odd.
This one even has the signature I remember having.
Oh...okay...I guess...well now I
feel silly. I guess your user name is different from the name it actually shows
yourself when you login? I don't know. Anyway...

Did you guys know I have a
girlfriend now? 9 month anniversery is Saturday.....man I've been gone a long
time.
Wow nemo is back lol. And
congrats to Sub.
When did we just become a bar and
not S.P.A?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QX41q_oIXms&feature=related
this actually looks really good
seems like the only people complainig are people who say it shouldn't be dark
but i like it that way
Hey, congrats Sub. Make sure to
stay devoted, especially the few months after the year anniversary. That's
where things started to get shaky for me, and my best friend down here at the U
of A just broke up with his girlfriend somewhere in that time range.
Good to see you Nemo! (Tosses
Nemo rubbing alcohol with cherry+toothpick) So, how've you been? What's your
major?
And Sub, we're totally still the S.P.A! We just never get any jobs...or
drink...or do anything. Basically, I've been the only one here who still felt
like RPing or writing skits for the last 2 years. Except Ace, but he was only
here a few months at a time and he doesn't have a computer at the moment.
[This message was deleted at the
request of the original poster]
Judas! You've returned! :D
Stop standing around and make me a sandwich! o_o
Haha...forgot about the rubbing
alcohol thing.
Anyways, I'm going to be double majoring in Optical Engineering and Math, with
a Physics minor. The Math major is still kind of up in the air though. It may
end up just being a minor.
But yeah, the optics thing is really cool. The UofA and the University of
Rochester are the only schools in the country with undergrad optics programs,
so it's a pretty exclusive thing. The mirror lens in the hubble telescope was
made under the football stadium at my school, and they're working on more stuff
for the Mars rover that's going up next year.
Wow...somehow all three of my
old sprite sheets made it onto the SPA site. I'm not sure when that happened,
but that's really cool. I thought the bottom two were gone forever! And they
were the ones I put the most work into.
Wow, that's a unusual field. Are
you looking into a cutting edge career with NASA, or something simpler like
designing contact lenses?
I didn't even remember that second sheet existed, but a brief search of the
archives reveals that you gave them to me in late 2005 and they can still be
found on one of your sites:
http://home.1asphost.com/captnemo/spritesnemossstyle.gif
http://home.1asphost.com/captnemo/sprites_all_nemo.gif
BTW, I noticed the Triple Double Tournament comic with me and Trunks wasn't up.
Do you remember if you took it down, or did your site reset to an earlier date,
or what?
Ah...the Triple Double
Tournament, which was copious amounts of fun to do at the time, went the way of
my old computer's harddrive after the first couple rounds. I had been having
computer problems, and then one day it just crashed and I wasn't able to
recover anything (sprite sheets, comics, etc.) including the sprite sheets that
all the participants had sent me...so I just scrapped the whole thing.
I think I may have made a comic or two more than were on my old, OLD site, but
I don't believe it was with the Frieza/Trunks team.
And the earliest attempt I made at retrieving those sprite sheets of mine in
the 1asphost thing resulted in me not being able to remember what my username
and/or password was when I created it, haha.
And...by old, OLD site I mean
the one you actually have linked to on the SPA site. Yeah the next Triple
Double comic was between my team of Nemo and Tan, Sonic and Tails, and team
from another message board that actually had very cool characters and sprite
sheets. Working with their characters was a lot of fun, but I think (from
actual, non-rigged, random drawing) my team was going to be the winner of that
round, which was also exciting because I had never gotten to utilize all the
Nemo and Tan battle poses that I had.
I don't believe I ever drew the winners all the way through the whole bracket,
because I wanted to keep myself in suspense somewhat. So I had only done
drawings for the first round. I can't for the life of me remember how Team SPA
did though.
And it's too bad I lost those Tan sprite sheets...they were just recolorations
of Nemo, but he had some different attacks that I remember putting quite a bit
of time into.
And as for school...
There's actually a lot of stuff that one can do with an Optics degree that
isn't immediately obvious. Basically, anything where you have any kind of light
(including UV and infrared, of course) interacting with anything, there's
optics involved. I talked to this grad student in his last year of our school's
optics graduate program, and he was actually working on cancer research. He was
helping develop these tiny gold and silver based molecules in the nano meter
size range (just as there is almost nothing that exists naturally in the
kilometer-megameter size range, there's almost nothing that exists naturally in
the nanometer range) that work in such a way that they can be injected near
where the cancer is inside someone. Because of the way they're designed, they
stay within that local range, and part of them is built to attach to a specific
chemical in cancer cells. After allowing this to happen, you can shine infrared
light in specific frequencies on the skin above the cancer, and the gold/silver
things react with that light and it basically causes them to explode, taking
the cancer down with them.
The trouble they're having with these things is to determine if they're safe,
first of all. Like I said, almost nothing exists in that size range, so humans
don't have natural defenses against anything like that if they turn out to be
harmful to us.
Secondly, the things are extremely difficult to create. Think about how a
snowflake is incredibly complex and hard to make under normal conditions, but
if the conditions are perfect, snowflakes just happen. The chemical
engineers are trying to find and design ways so make these gold and silver
molecules just happen in that same manner.
I don't know if I'd necessarily be interested in something like that, but it is
very cool.
Wow, you sound busy. How much time
do you have for fun?
*sets fire to random chao*
I'm checking out the site. Havn't been there in ages.
More than you might think! I've been
playing a lot of Smash Bros., and my new best friend down in Tucson gives me
plenty of competition.
Mario Galaxy is also amazing...easily the best game I've played in the past few
years.
Er... I suppose that's equally
valid but I meant with other people. Like parties. ^_^;
Haha, oh... Well, I'm not really
much of a partier as I don't actually drink...but I did go to one because an
attractive female invited me...but then she was basically all over this other
guy...and his friend...and I decided she wasn't my type, ha.
Hm. Pity that. Well you may want to
consider giving it another shot, you'll end up liking it more than you think
you will if you get involved. Course I imagine you'd have more fun at a party
with people you know.
(Tabcef) Tell me what, tell me what, tell me what you want
I don't know why, don't know why, don't know why you afraid
Tell me what, tell me what, tell me what you say
I don't know why, don't know why, too late, it's too late
*slaps Tabcef* It's never too late!
He can still make it!
Don't you die on me! FIRST AID!
(Stuffs flaming chao into
blender and uses gore to put out flaming barstool)
I was never into the party scene either, though I do like get-togethers with friends
and don't mind if a few people I don't know are there. I've never really done
that either though, I just know I like it. My social life outside school was
always just hanging out with one other person and usually playing games. And
even that was only a few times a year. Yeah, I'm definitely not a socialite.
And I vividly remember the Team SPA match because we won. The last panel was me
and Trunks high-fiving.
(Tabcef) http://youtube.com/watch?v=pxcbr3PJ76E
Hm. Am I the only one here who
likes parties? o_o I don't think I'd like going to one where I didn't know
anyone, but I love big parties with a handful of people I know, then meeting
others becomes easier and more comfortable. Of course, once I've been drinking
introductions get made pretty quickly. XD So I suppose it wouldn't matter
except that I'd feel guilty sucking up the alcohol of strangers if I didn't
know anybody there.
People are fun. I've cut my gaming time by at least 75% in favor of more social
activities and skill development and I'm WAY happier. Well, for more reasons
than that, but I'm always happiest when I'm having a conversation in a large
setting. Or drinking. :D I'm doing that now.
An SPA member that actually
drinks IRL! Huzzah!
But you're under age, aren't you? For shame!
I'm more aligned with Frieza,
although I'm always up to go out and have fun with other people.
Having Frieza and Trunks high
five in the last frame of their victory does sound like something I would do...
I'll dig around a little and see if i can find it maybe.
Oh wow...I found some old, old

Tonight was AWESOME. My little bro
had his barmitzvah, SO MUCH FUN. I started drinking second that service was
over, had such a great time. Danced a lot, great food, yay! :3 Open bar closed
though... Ended up sober the last 30-ish minutes of the night. My car's still
at the hotel though, had to get a ride home. V_V
Oh Nemo, Evan drank so much that he vomited then told my cousin after he walks
out of the bathroom that he better not use the first toilet.
"Why?"
"Because it knows what happened."
I did a great job entertaining Jessica so that was a personal victory for me.
^_^ That woman is gorgeous. And fun. I don't see enough of her. Harvard's far
away.
Couldn't go clubbing with cousins and bro though... I need to get a fake ID.
Hahahaha...great to know you
were trying to get with Evan's sister while he was too trashed to know better.
Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 is

Well, the SPA game isn't
happening. My brother's too busy to program it and I'm too busy to work with
him designing it. So, while I've still got something of an audience, here's
what I'd written for it:
http://www.geocities.com/spa_comics2/metro_script.htm
http://www.geocities.com/spa_comics2/Ace_crew_bios.htm
http://www.geocities.com/spa_comics2/sub_story.htm
http://www.geocities.com/spa_comics2/maxim_story.htm
http://www.geocities.com/spa_comics2/spagame.htm
The first one is a script version of the Metro City battle. Nothing was really
added to it, so unless you were too lazy to read the full thing there's no real
reason to read it.
Ace's bios is something I got him to write for me to help me write stuff for
his characters. I think Nemo's the only one who even vaguely followed Ace's
stuff, so he's probably the only one who'd be interested.
Sub's story is ok. There's a few funny skits in there, though I fell back on
"Nemo explodes" as a punchline or transition way too many times.
Maxim's story is a competent script but not especially entertaining. It was
supposed to be a sort of tribute to him. The ending's also kind of corny. I
think I would've come up with something better if I hadn't kept the action
focused completely on Max (since he was the only playable character in that
story).
The last one is the good one. I wrote it back when I was in college (back when
I was good), and I consider it the best SPA related material I've ever done. It
was originally going to be the only story mode in the game, but as I embarked
on my nostalgia trip I got bigger ideas. At the time I had even dreamed of everyone
writing their own story, but I knew that wasn't happening. So there you are,
probably the last thing I'll write for the SPA unless someone else starts
something. I'm happy with it.
Happy New Year, boys.
(Chris Dark) Personally, I think it needs more MCPD, and that means moar Chris Dark, since you can't have the Metro City battle without Chris Dark somewhere, shooting at things. Though, it's funny you thought about making a game like this, since I actually tried my hand at it too, with RPG Maker. Even got a demo finished OF the Metro City fight, which ended with a fight against Para. Of course, I also used nothing but the basic RPG Maker sprites, but I also didn't know anything about making sprites from scratch either. Still don't. D:
It'd be neat if someone had
saved the earlier Metro battles, both for nostalgia and to provide some
context. But we've only got the final one (which was the one in the game, which
you weren't in, so there!), http://geocities.com/spa_comics2/Metrocity.htm.
Do you still have that demo? That might be good for a laugh.
(Chris Dark) Probably on my old computer. Lemme` see if I can find it.
I checked my new old computer, and it didn't have it on it. Which means my old old computer, upstairs, must have it. Which also means it's lost to us all, since I am NOT going into that room. I've seen small animals disappear in there.
>_<
Week of break left. Just the two days off between winter/spring semesters with
nothing to do. Ah well.
(Tabcef) (Aah) Por que tudo é tão triste?
Cause I'd like more than two days
with nothing to do. I have a test every 4 days for winter semester, it's hard.
I LIVE, MAN!!!
Wassup, ya'll!! I am still alive.
I got myself a new job and a new computer. Soon enough I'll have the internet
again. So you'll prolly be seein' more of me around March or February.
The Ace MAN cometh!
It was staggered across a few weeks, but we really did get our holiday reunion.
Hooray beer.
I am confused by the choice of
guest characters for Soul Calibur IV. I think financially it was pure genius as
one would be hard pressed to appeal to a fanbase more willing to throw their
money out simply for something associated with it. But it seems very odd to me.
I'd have liked Tales characters. Oh well.
(ConsumerOfBeer) That was unexpected. Everybody was saying Master Chief and Kratos. This is pretty cool too. I don't have a PS3 so I feel like I'm missing out on Vader, but I'd feel the same way about Yoda if I didn't have a 360.
but teh lazerswordes will cut
thru mettle
In other news, I'm back in Austin for school. *sigh*
Kratos would have been awesome and
he would have fit pretty well. I think Dante would also have been rather
appropriate. Some people have mentioned Nariko as being a good candidate for a
360 version which I think would have also been cool.
Ah well. I think it's funny. I can't fathom what plot they could give them to
come seeking soul edge. And I'm curious what Vader's Soul Edge version of the
lightsaber will look like because I know he'll have one.
(Im Not NEG) I'm "this" close to getting an iMac.
If theres any critical reason why I shouldn't get one, speak within the next 48
hours at most.
Put it this way. Vista is getting horrible reports, and Dell's XPS's are
actually more expensive then bloody iMac's.
Must...get...shiny...Maac...
Must not listen to....cleverly done Apple marketting....BLAH
Hm, I can't really think of any
major reason not to get a Mac... Generally they tend to be pricier than a
Windows PC equivalent, but I think it generally comes down to personal
preference.
Personally, I don't like Macs too much. I wouldn't complain if I got one for a
good price though.
(ConsumerOfBeer) User base is the big thing. You won't be able to find a lot of stuff on Mac that you could for Windows.
(Tabcef) reformat computer install xp
I do not like Mac user interface. I
hate Vista's even more, but if you can't get an XP operating system then I'd go
with Mac.
Yeah, like CoB said there's a
lot of programs (and especially games) that won't run on Mac. And if you grew
up using Windows, the Mac interface is annoying as hell. XP will be the OS of
choice for a while. I wouldn't use anything else right now, personally.
(Im Not NEG) You'd think MS would have ironed out Vista's
problems after a year of release (hence why I waited), wanted to upgrade to
Vista and Office 07 (and improve my hardware preformance, its gotten sluggishly
slow of late, perhaps more ram?) but with all the "Vistas horrible! No
drivers!" reports its still putting me off.
Whats more amusing is XP is getting Service Pack 3 soon. Talking about killing
your own product hype, in a way.
As for Mac, well, its just hearing all the stories over the years. The
"too good to be true" ones like it never crashes, is easy as hell to
use, I'd never go back to Windows after using it etc.
Gaming isn't a issue, emu's still exist, World Of Warcraft works on it and if I
were desperate I could potentially use Boot Camp to install XP/Vista...but I
think that would eat up alot of space and processors.
I could also just upgrade my current system, its not too old, but I hear from
reports that its maker didn't make the insides spacey enough to install say, a
nice new graphics card (or maybe they just didn't think graphics cards will
become big and bulky? eh) or just general fears of if it'll even work properly
since I'd be changing an OS (XP to Vista) and changing parts here and there,
whilst other parts (like the HDD) still remaining.
Its pondersome, and again, laughable that I'd probably have to wait another
year till Vista becomes worth it.
(Tabcef) you will explode in two minutes
you will explode in two minutes?
(ConsumerOfBeer) RIP NEG
1847 - 2008
He exploded in two minutes.
In defense of Vista, I haven't
experienced any problems that I hadn't seen before on any other OS. From my
view, it's just a repeat of when XP came out and a very vocal minority cried
foul play and vowed never to upgrade.
They just changed too many
functional features. Plenty of their features worked then they made things
inconvenient and the sheer frequency of occurences like that drove me crazy. It
WORKS, it just feels terrible to me.
So apparently I qualify to join Mensa... Think I should? I'm not really sure if
any of their benefits make it worth it.
Well if anything, it's sure to be
a way to pick up girls.
(SolidSonic) *Strolls in.*
I decided to chill by my old stomping grounds to take in the nostalgia.
Barkeep, one draft.
How is that a sure way to pick up
girls? o_o I probably wouldn't even mention it. I'm intelligent but I don't
flaunt it. To me, the people that do that just scream, "Hey. I'm smart.
But I'm pretty arrogant about it and I'd like you to know even though there's
really no social context for me to bring it up." Not so attractive. And
alas, such people do exist.
Besides I generally base who I go out with on how much I enjoy talking to them.
If you're having a good conversation with someone then they're usually open to
spending more time with you.
It was supposed to be a joke, but
in retrospect my wording was too serious.
I see. >_>
SEPPUKU! *stabs*
Wow. So, your IQ is in the top
two percent of the world? Cool. Their benefits don't sound too interesting.
It's pretty much just prestige unless you're looking to network with people to
start projects or something. How much does it cost?
Not much, it's like $52 annually.
Looks like they have some deal with bank of america though. Might be helpful, I
use that bank. Rest just seems to be like... magazines and car rentals deals. I
don't really see why they have so many members aside from bragging rights and
networking.
My family is just pretty smart. Mainly from my dad's side. My dad's got an IQ
in the 160's, managed to get a perfect score on his SAT's. Suspected him of
cheating at first. Really well known plastic surgeon. He's... not the most
sociable person in the world though. It's unfortunate but it's a common trait
in people like that. His dad was a chemist for Johnson & Johnson. He was
really good at his job, won a bunch of awards, let him work past their
"out to pasture" age. One of the chemists that worked on the original
tylenol formula. Things like that. Usually successful, and some of the others
on his side are crazy successful. My cousins the Kramers. Their immediate
family & grandparents pretty much collectively own a nice chunk of
california. The grandfather built most of the housing developments along the
coast. The others got into stocks and finances before they were 10... They're doing
real well. I'm not the most knowledgeable person, didn't pay enough attention
in classes and was in a bad place for a number of years so that didn't help
any. I have a lot of other traits that are typically shown in higher IQ people
though and my processing and interpretive skills are pretty high. I'm told I
taught myself to read before kindergarten. I had memorized some book from my
mother reading it to me so much so I was able to match the words and the text.
I think the book was "Daniel and the Dinosaur." I loved dinosaurs.
o_o I know I made my mom read that to me a million times.
So just a little something about me I guess I never told anyone over the years
I've been talking to all you. Come to think of it I don't know all that much
about your lives. Tell me something.
(Tabcef) RENT A FLAT ABOVE A SHOP

also, don't join mensa
why would you join a club that is full of people who are 'smart'
it's a club about being 'smart'
think about the reasons WHY one would start or join a club like that
actually no join it, give us reports about the people there
if there are no benefits that are actually worthwhile, use that money
elsewhere-
basically, if that 52 dollars is not worth the bank benefit than don't join
if it is then join
i honestly would not join a club whose requirements/purpose is to basically
to.. i don't know how to word this without profanities- circlejerk (is this a
profanity?)
You can be as profane as you want,
I won't mod you. It's pretty hard to offend me. And yeah, I know what you mean.
There's so many people enrolled that I'm sure there's plenty of nice people but
there must also be a fair amount of elitist people and I'd just prefer to not
deal with them. I don't like talking to those people. I'm thinking no, I just
have to see what my current rates are for accounts and credit card (which I
rarely use). If i can't save a notable amount there's no point. I don't really
rent cars and I don't travel often so I can't make use of that. Nothing else
appeals to me.
Alright for a serious answer, I
would definitely not join. As good old Tabby put so eloquently, Mensa offers no
real benefits other than to validate people of their intelligence, which some
people would argue isn't representative of much. If anything, Mensa is kind of
lame if only for the fact that they seem to have contributed very little to
society, especially given the fact that they are ostensibly an organization filled
with bright, "test-proven" individuals.
(Tabcef) "have contributed very little to society"

the type. Yeah. And Amy's a cattle smuggler, subtly alluded to from her cow
army in the days of yore here. And Al is part of the Illuminati society and his
brethren would kill him if he were to let others know. And Frieza's an
undercover cop, acting all nice, just waiting for his chance to take everyone
down...
My mind is wandering. >_>

But that post made the waiting worthwhile.
Actually, this week has been all 15 hour days. I'm just heading home now. I'll
think of something tomorrow.
(ConsumerOfBeer) Eh, I could tell you things about myself
but it wouldn't change much.
I'm the academically lazy but gifted type, handsome (narcissistic too),
athletic, BMI 23. I just turned 20 on the 13th, but I celebrate my half-birthday
in July instead. Winter sucks. I live in Sacramento, CA, I don't know what my
major is, I've only loved one girl in my life, kissing is just first base to
me, and I've been very active my whole life. I love to pull pranks. I hate
complaining and have low tolerance for quitters. My passions are soccer (and
it's variants), wakeboarding, snowboarding, surfing, and gaming. My favorite
movie is The Blues Brothers (1980). The Mars Volta kicks ass. I'm agnostic. I
spend hours in bed wondering about the ultimate fate of the universe and
unimportant things like that before I can fall asleep.
That's probably enough information to track me down and kill me, considering
I'm fairly well known. And now this post looks like a social networking site
profile, but that was pretty much the intention.

suppose you've all earned my trust...except for you, monkey. You leave now.
(Groaning sounds followed by slamming of door)
Frieza: Excellent. Now then, where shall I begin?
---
There's a handful of interesting things about me, but most of them make me
sound crazy so I'll follow GM's example and talk about my family. On my
father's side, from my great grandfather as far back as I know, we were in the
Italian mafia. In Italy. My great great grandfather came to America, and I
guess he either hooked up with a group here or brought his own. My great
grandfather was the one who broke the tradition; he was in for some years but
the mafia was changing. My grandfather says it used to be just running numbers
and that sort of thing, but it was becoming increasingly monstrous. He's got
stories (like a guy being cooked alive in a pizza oven, with sauce and cheese
and all)...anyway, I gather that the man couldn't take it anymore and asked to
to leave. He must've been a trustworthy guy, because usually once you're in
you're in for life but they never came for him. I'm apparently somehow related
to a famous mobster through marriage, but I probably shouldn't say which one.
On my mother's side I'm a second cousin to Michael Collins, an Irish
revolutionary who's credited for taking a ragtag group of freedom fighters and
pretty much single handedly turning them into a highly efficient terrorist
force. They fought the British for independence, and once they'd battered them
enough to get to the bargaining table the political leader of the group sent
Collins in his own place to negotiate. They both knew Britain would never give
them quite the freedom they were asking for, and that if they accepted the
compromise it wouldn't go over well with their army. Collins chose peace and
signed the treaty giving some kind of partial independence, but the
revolutionary army was divided. He became a military leader for the new
government and fought against the half of the army that persisted in revolution
and was killed. He said he was signing his own death warrant when he signed the
treaty, so in that sense he's kind of a martyr.
So that's where I get my talent for murder and mayhem, in case you were
wondering. On a more positive note, I'm a blood relative of Saint Gerard
Majella on the mafia side.

Frieza: Oh, and I sprinkled some amnesia dust in all of your drinks. In about

Odd question...
It's a cold place, and though I LOATHE cold weather (yet much prefer winter

mccain is a shoe in for republican candidate
great, the dems are gonna lose again
this time to a blatant lying sob
at least he's blatant about it.
McCain is not going to win
presidency even if he wins primaries (which he probably will). He wants to
extend Iraq presence over 100 years. I find it implausible that the majority of
people will support this.
(Tabcef) bush is not going to win the presidency the war in
iraq has both bad press and is going badly
bush is not going to win the presidency gore is more popular
mccain isn't stupid, he plays the politics game really well
he attracts independants and republicans will vote for him either way when it
comes to general elections
guiliani's support ensures his victory in the primaries
I respect McCain, but I doubt
he'll win the election.
Gore was virtually neck and neck
and most people didn't really LIKE any of the options last election so it wasn't
a landslide victory. Obama and Clinton both have MASSIVE support. It's not the
same thing.
I think McCain's chances hinge
largely on who wins for us democrats. If Obama wins the primaries (which I
hope! Just sent my absentee ballot in yesterday), I think McCain's odds are
pretty slim as Obama will likely be able to get support from a lot of voters
who may have preferred Hillary over him but don't really have a problem with
Obama. Also, Obama - at least as far as I see it - has been able to attract a
fairly strong amount of independents and undecideds due to his goals of
unifying the two parties, and also not being as radical as Hillary.
If Hillary wins the primaries, on the other hand, McCain's odds would look much
better. While democrats that might not vote for Obama in the primaries would
probably still support him if he won, there are a lot of democrats who would
NOT support Hillary if she were to win the primaries, even though she has a
strong following. Likewise, due to her more radical ideologies she isn't nearly
as easy to support as Obama is if you're an independent or undecided voter.
And then there's always the curveball of Ron Paul. While it's EXTREMELY
unlikely he'll even come close to winning the primaries, if he gets a
significant cut of the votes, I believe he's said that he'll run as an
independent candidate for the actual election, and with such a strong following
already (compared to other independents) his presence on the ballot in November
is likely to cut into votes for the other two candidates, and possibly one
candidate more than the other, although it's hard to say which one it would be
as libertarianism isn't really any more democratic or republican than the
other.
In any case, it'll certainly be interesting to see how things unfold.
Vote for Obama!

he must've sensed the trouble.
(ConsumerOfBeer) He wants to extend Iraq presence over
100 years. I find it implausible that the majority of people will support this.
In the same sense as today's presence in Japan.
Also, that was one helluva sweet turn around. I'm not a Giants fan, but at least it was an NFC victory.
I liked Manning's escape from a
four-man sack and subsequent throw for a 35-yard completion.
I'm not particularly fond of football, but that was pretty damn badass.
(ConsumerOfBeer) Yar, my heart pretty much exploded from excitement right then.
That last second seemed
unnecessary. >_>
Also, the charge across the field
at the end to the whole team pretty much piling on one person was hilarious.
I'm just hoping the Patriots'
coach doesn't commit suicide. Did you see him in that interview after the game?
That was certainly the face of depression.
I had to look up both Nemo's pun
and Lackadaisy. I don't think we get Prime Minister brand meat here and I have
no time for the wide world of webcomics.
Frieza: Now then, there's been entirely too little intoxication around here,
especially with the passing of a major sporting event. I'm afraid the
constitutes a breach of article 13 of the alcoholics grand charter. We'll be
dead by the end of the week.
Magnus: What do we do?
Frieza: There's only one thing to do...
(Two days earlier)
GM: Think the Patriots will get their perfect season?
Nemo: I don't know, the Giants are pretty-
(Frieza bursts out of Trunks's time machine wielding dual water cannons loaded
with pure alcohol)
Frieza: Drink, you foul heathens, drink!
(Blasts Nemo and GM through wall)
Past Frieza: What the hell-
Frieza: You too! Be drunk!
(Slams barrel of Seizure **** over past self's head. Bar explodes)
Magnus: Uh...won't destroying the bar create some kind of time paradox?
(2 days later)
Frieza: Now then, by using pure alcohol as a weapon my other timeline self
violated the third clause of amendment 5 of the alcoholics grand charter. We'll
be shot by the end of the week.
Magnus: What do we do?
Frieza: There's only one thing to do...
(Alcoholics grand HQ is mysteriously nuked)
Frieza: I think clearer after a good drink.

I like how my only line in that

Also, the USDA rates beef based on its quality. Prime is the best (not
surprisingly), followed by "choice", followed by "select."
So if you've ever heard a grocery store advertising that they're having a sale
on USDA "choice" whatever...don't be swayed. It's not really that big
of a deal.
You would think they were pretty!
Also, I got the joke, so don't be
dismayed. I'm sure someone else did as well.

(ConsumerOfBeer) Not saying this in response to you, Tabcef,
but I can't stand most people during election time. I know for a fact that I do
my homework better than the next Joe, and I still keep my mouth shut for fear
of making uneducated statements. But it's that same Joe that runs his mouth
like he knows everything there is to know about the entire American government.
And all he's really doing is regurgitating what the media or someone else said
like it's his own opinion.

(Tabcef) it's weird this situation
i don't think it's that common, is it?
when was the last time that the nominees weren't obvious at this point?
It's obvious that the uninformed
masses are going to blindly vote Hillary or Barack. This race is complete bull.
Republican candidates stand little chance right now because of the democratic
headliners. I'm seriously considering not voting this time.
(Tabcef) VOTER TURNOUT RATES::
"The agency also found that turnout rates were closely correlated to a
voter's age. A little more than 73 percent of those between 65 and 74 said they
voted, the highest rate for any age group. Those between the ages of 18 and 24
had the lowest, with 47 percent reported going to the polls.
Between those two groups, turnout rates increased steadily with age.
Seventy-three percent of those between 55 and 64 said they voted, compared with
69 percent of those between 45 and 54, 64 percent of those between 35 and 44,
and 56 percent of those between 25 and 34.
The numbers also indicate that turnout rates are closely tied to levels of
formal education. Those with bachelor's degrees or an advanced degree voted at
much higher rates (80 percent) than those with high school degrees (56 percent)
and those without a diploma or its equivalent (40 percent.).
The agency reported that the employed were more likely go to the polls (66
percent) than the unemployed (51 percent) or those not considered to be a part
of the workforce (61 percent). Veterans voted more frequently than
non-veterans."

democratic party won presidency... I really hope Hillary doesn't win primaries.

I've been trying not to pay
attention until the parties choose a candidate, partially because I didn't
think we had an actual vote in it (Primaries? Who knew?). Obama's the only one
who's interested me. He's the first presidential candidate I've ever seen that
seems genuine. Maybe it's his youth; maybe he hasn't lost his integrity to the
soul-sucking world of politics yet. I don't know much about him, but I like
what I've heard. It seems to me that he's the wild card. You kind of know what
you're getting with Hillary or McCain, but Obama's the election's cracker jack
box (ambiguous racial connotations intended).

episodes as well.
The amazing thing is, the Frieza content never stops to amaze, heres some
intresting new info I found:

If that music was indeed the original track for that scene of the episode, we
have all the more reason for wanting to strangle Funimation more and more. It
fits in with Friezas usual dubbed theme music and gives it and end, at least in
my opinion.

I always wondered where that
track was from! It's on the American OST, but I knew I'd never heard it before.
I was recently thinking it might have been an alternate for when Goku killed
him, but this is obviously where it goes. I agree, it's much more awesome. Kind
of a tragic tone to it.
Bad ass.

I think it was on the Jetsons that they had a tread you stood on that did
something like that. Probably the only cool thing from the entire show.
And LOL @ DBZ's animation. I realize it's really old, but still.
(Tabcef) 18. Employ a simple, straightforward style.
(Im Not NEG) Whats wrong with DBZ's animation? Doesn't look
dated to me. The only thing modern technology would allow is more flashes and
puffs of smoke, the art itself has stood up well.
For comparison, look at Pokemon, Digimon, Sailor Moon, or heck early hentai
movies from the mid-90s. ALL have come out after (or possibly during, in sailor
moons case) DBZ. Do any look as good? Not by a long shot.
And Trunks saga was 93-94ish, if I'm not mistaken. Thats hardly "very old'.
What with it being the best thing ever on American/British telly in the late 90's. I watched not much else and never thought it looked old.

show though, I mean they couldn't even make the actual Gundam's look exciting.
Fair play on the western animated shows, great shows (some of em), but none
make DBZ look old b a long shot, especially when some are just meant to be zany
and acme hilarity.
Or I can just say you can't compare anime with western. Thats like comparing
Astro Boy with Mickey Mouse.
And wait, you listed the mid-90's Pink Panther? The one
where he can talk?

Hot damn, I've been reminded (as if I needed it) why I heart DBZ (upto Frieza)
so. Only question is where I should start re-watching. From the Ginyu Force
episodes, from the moment they crash land on namek, or from the point they
encounter Frieza head on.
Ahh Frieza, be my valentine.
Encounter Frieza.
I actually submitted it to them

You and me are the only ones
here from the RP crew, Sub. Nemo's kind of back, but he's not around often. I
did scenes once in a while, but it's no fun doing it alone. If you'd do a few
I'd join in.
And it's been 7 pages since I forced drinks down everyone's throats. Truly this
has been our darkest bar.
When was the last time there was
a brawl in the bar?
I HATED Gatsby. I also hated
Catcher in the Rye, Things Fall Apart, and The Crucible.
Three major classics. I cannot for the life of me find the appeal. Frankenstein
was awesome, I like Cyrano de Bergerac. What else did I read in school... I
read a lot on my free time but not usually classic novels. Nothing else worth
mentioning apparently.
I just finished Return of the Condor Heroes (bad ending! ;_; ), I think I might
go on to The Left Hand of Darkness.
Comic Book Guy: If you are
referring to a battle between two posters, Nemo's and Sub's chao battle in Bar
5 was the most recent in the continuity. Chronologically speaking, however,
Frieza vs Ace began after the end of Bar 3 and continued for over two years,
into the summer of 2003. While the entire battle actually took place in the
Dream Field (except, it is assumed, for the brief section in Frieza's pocket
dimension), parts of it were posted in Bar 7. The third kidnapping of Santa,
Christmas 03, is considered to be the last battle. Some lesser fans will
contend that Christmas 05 was the most recent fight since Tabcef opened fire on
the gang, but nobody retaliated so it cannot be called a true RP fight. In any
event, both of them took place in a separate topic and not the bar proper. If
you are referring to any kind of scuffle taking place within the continuity,
that would be 7 pages ago, 2/5/2008 5:49:17 PM, when a version of Frieza from
an alternate timeline attacked the gang using alcohol as a weapon.
Nemo: Is it true that if I kill you, I become you?
Comic Book Guy: What the...gasp! I'm...I'm in the continuity! At last, after
all my years of diligent study I've transcended reality and entered the world
of fiction!
Sub: Looks like he's not talking, Nemo. Guess that means there's only one way
to find out.
Comic Book Guy: Wait, what? NO! AAAAHHHH!!!
(Mr. Chainsaw squeals in delight. None are spared.)
I don't know about a brawl, but
I'd definitely be down for a Melee...

Your words about the ending in that same thread about your essay would be nice,
Frieza. Someone does make a good point, the dragon balls ARE still there at the
end...sort of.
Not if Frieza killed Piccolo. If
he died there, Earth's dragonballs would disappear and they wouldn't be able to
wish Guru back to life. They'd all be gone for good. In that scenario I admit
it would seem pretty strange and depressing that the dead Z fighters who'd been
training with King Kai would never be able to come back, but it adds to the
somber theme of the results of a life of fighting. And even when they did come
back they never really fought again, so that whole side plot was a waste either
way.
On the subject of the spirit bomb, the one that hit Frieza was actually created
from the entire universe according to the sub. The dub said it was just the
stars of Namek. Now that I know, it feels like a much more perfect final
battle.
Ugh, I am getting increasingly
self-conscious because of muscle atrophy. I've started upper body workouts
again, but my wrist is still in too poor shape to lift heavy weights. Some
activities (mostly shoulders) I can go up to thirty lbs. right now, but other
activities like bench presses I can only use up to ten until my wrist starts to
give out. I want my muscles back... I look too skinny now. It's going to be a
few more months until I can lift decent weight again, and I'll thankfully be
able to lift more frequently by that point.
Takes time, I guess. Everything
does. Just be patient and don't worry about.
I've little choice in the matter.
I'm not so stupid as to push myself past what's comfortable for my body, but
certain required activities are giving me problems that may be interfering with
the physical therapy. Those should be gone soon...
"Our patience will achieve

This might be a good time to

GM...was there ever a time where
you DIDN'T look way too skinny? I wish I could steal some of your metabolism.
Wait, what was that about
physical therapy?
He injured his wrist because of
the large quantity of assignments in one of his art classes, and as such is
limited as to the possible intensity of upper body weight training until the
wrist finishes healing.
